You can use TNG RFID at these following locations explicitly on 1st Jan 2020

Reading Time: 2 minutes read

It has been almost a year since Touch n’ Go introduces the RFID system. Touch ‘n Go has launched many fitment centres all around Malaysia. This is where you can bring your vehicle to get the RFID tag fixed. Later on, Plus has announced that it will be rolling out the RFID payment system via the TNG RFID.

Now, we have official information from the TNG CEO himself saying that TNG RFID will be available at these following toll plazas on 1st of January 2020.

  1. Kempas (NSE)
  2. Perling (Linkedua)
  3. Lima Kedai (Linkedua)
  4. Tanjung Kupang (Linkedua)
  5. Mambau (SPDH)
  6. Lukut (SPDH)
  7. Jambatan Pulau Pinang
  8. Lunas (BKE)
  9. Kubang Semang (BKE)
  10. Jitra (NSE)

Well, this is not even half of the tolls. According to TNG, it will be rolling out the RFID payment system for the remaining 83 toll plazas starting 1st of April 2020. All you need to do in order to use the RFID lane is to make sure there is either sufficient money in your eWallet or enable the auto-reload feature. Touch ‘n Go has introduced this new auto-reload feature where once you connect your debit or credit card to the app, it will automatically reload it whenever you use the tool.

In case you are wondering, the ancient Touch ‘n Go card and the SmartTAG are still available to use in all highway toll plazas. So you don’t have to worry about it. Just to give you all heads up that PLUS highways have removed the “tambah nilai” counter throughout Malaysia. You might need to go to the reloading machine to top up your touch n go card. If you want to avoid all this hassle then probably, you should get your vehicle fixed with RFID tag. Now, it is very simple, you don’t have to bring any of the car documents before walking-in to the fitment centre. Check this out here on how.

Did you know Malaysia is not the first country to adopt the RFID payment system for the toll plazas? Apart from Malaysia, our neighbour country Singapore has already implemented this system a long time ago. Now, PLUS is taking a huge step forward to implement the Multi-Lane Free-Flow (MLFF) payment system. This means, one day there wouldn’t be any toll booths along the road. Both TNG and PLUS believes this could really curb the congestion issues in Malaysia highways especially during festival season.

Nowadays there are many apps which allows you to edit your photos on the go. Even apps such as Instagram also allows you to add live filters. What if the king of photo editing company launches an app? Adobe will be launching its own photo editing app which is called Photoshop Camera on the next year 2020.

Even though there are many photo editing apps out there, there is none can compete with Adobe Photoshop. The Photoshop Camera app is totally a different photo editing app. Most of the apps, you need to capture a picture and set the filters. However, for the Photoshop Camera app, all you need to do is open the app and capture it. The app uses AI to bring the photoshop magic directly to the point of capture.

Besides that, using the real-time Photoshop-grade magic camera app, your photos could be more focused on the storytelling with the available effects. Through the app, you can also add word arts to your photos. If you notice, nowadays most of the users are posting Instagram Stories rather than posting a photo as a post. Since the app using its own Adobe Sensei AI, recognizing the subject is going to be very simple. The moment it recognizes the subject the AI will provide recommendations for the photos automatically. Furthermore, the Photoshop Camera app also features lenses which are made by well-known artists and influencers.

In a nutshell, Adobe Photoshop Camera app will be available to both iOS and Android devices in 2020 only. At this moment, Adobe is allowing users to sign up for the preview of the app. For more information, you can visit the Adobe Photoshop Camera app website.

Reading Time: 3 minutes read

Xiaomi is not done unveiling smartphones. It’s almost the end of the year, and it is still unveiling a new smartphone. This round, Xiaomi unveils the CC9 Pro in China. At the same time, it also unveils the Mi Note 10 which is the similar smartphone to the CC9 Pro. The reason Xiaomi unveils both smartphones in a separate event is because of the region. CC9 Pro will only be available in China and the Mi Note 10 will be available globally.

As usual, the major difference between CC9 Pro and Mi Note 10 is the OS. The CC9 Pro will be running on Xiaomi own apps and services which is only available in China. Whereas, the Mi Note 10 will be running on the MIUI which runs on top of the Android OS. Every time when Xiaomi unveils a smartphone in China, within a day or two it will unveil the global edition worldwide.

The main highlight of the Mi Note 10 is the Penta camera setup at the rear. Mi Note 10 features a 108MP wide-angle camera. This camera sensor is the same ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor which is present in the Xioami Mi Mix Alpha. Did you know that the 108MP camera sensor is built by Samsung? The remaining camera is the 5MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, a 20MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 12MP Portrait camera and a 2MP macro camera.

Over at the front side of the phone is the 6.47″ Full HD+ dual-curved AMOLED display. At the top, it also features a tiny notch which houses the 32MP front selfie camera. As the display uses an AMOLED display, you can expect Mi Note 10 to have the in-display fingerprint sensor.

Under the hood, Mi Note 10 features a Snapdragon 730G processor which could be mated with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM. Besides that, the Mi Note 10 also comes with two storage options which are 128GB and 256GB. Keeping the lights on is the huge 5,260mAh battery which also supports the 30W fast charging via USB-C. According to Xiaomi, you can charge the device from 0% to 100% within 1 hour only.

Xioami Watch: This is the Apple Watch clone you have been waiting

Reading Time: 3 minutes read

Xiaomi officially launches its first smartwatch called Xiaomi Watch. Well, the title says it all. This is the clone of the Apple Watch It looks exactly similar to the Apple Watch. One thing for sure, it is way cheaper than the current Apple Watch.

The other reason we are saying the new Xiaomi Watch is a clone of Apple Watch because of the crown and a physical button on the right. That’s the same design with the current Apple Watch. However, for the size-wise, the Xiaomi Watch only comes in a 44mm size. Which means the size of your hand has to be bigger in order to fit the 44mm version.

Besides that, Xiaomi Watch also features a 1.78″ AMOLED display which is powered by Qualcomm 3100 processor. It also features a 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. Moreover, Xiaomi Watch also supports eSIM connectivity which you can use it to make a phone calls even without your phone around with you. Since it also has a built-in speaker and mic, you can even answer calls directly from your watch.

With the Qualcomm processor, you can continue using your Xiaomi Watch for 36-hours. That’s more than the battery life of the Apple Watch. The current Apple Watch especially Apple Watch Series 5 can last for 18 hours on a single charge. Surprisingly, with the smaller 570mAh battery, it’s really good to see how Xiaomi is improving its battery life for its devices. Similar to the Apple Watch Series 5, Xiaomi Watch also charges via the magnetic charging base.

Furthermore, Xiaomi Watch also features activities tracking where it can automatically track whether you are running or cycling. The best feature of this smartwatch is it’s water-resistant. With this feature, it can even track your swimming activities too. As usual Xiaomi Watch also features the usual heart rate sensor which constantly tracks your heartbeat rate.

Pricing and Availability

The Xiaomi Watch is officially priced at CNY1,299 (RM767) which is almost half price cheaper than the Apple Watch. At the same time, Xiaomi also launches the premium edition which is priced at CNY1,999 (RM1,181). The premium model comes with a sapphire glass, and both stainless steel case and strap. At this moment, it is still not sure whether Xiaomi will be launching Xiaomi Watch in Malaysia any time soon.

BREAKING: Huawei to regain access to Google apps

Reading Time: 2 minutes read

It has been almost six months since the United States government bans Huawei from doing business with US tech companies. Since then, companies such as Google and Microsoft have stopped their business with Huawei. This has cause Huawei sales to drop drastically.

However, today there is a piece of official news from the US Secretary of Commerce, Wilbur Ross, says that sooner Huawei could be regaining its access to the US tech companies. Which means Huawei can start its business once again with US tech companies such as Google and Microsoft. According to Wilbur Ross, the talks between China and the US regarding the trade deal is getting a very positive response.

If you notice Huawei’s latest Mate 30 series, it is not equipped with any of the Google apps and services. This has caused much frustration to the Huawei fans. Imagine, you not able to download your favourite apps or games from the Google Play Store. This has given a huge impact on Huawei. At the same time, Huawei also previously reveals that it could be porting its own Harmony OS for its smartphones if the US government continues to ban Huawei in the US by the end of 2019.

Image from Engadget

During Ross interview with Bloomberg, he has stated that the US is planning to mitigate this issue by offering licenses for the companies. Without this licence, Huawei could not continue its work with the US tech giants. As of now, the licenses have not been issued yet, but Ross strongly states it will come “very shortly”.

Looks like finally, Huawei Mate 30 series smartphone could be getting Google updates very soon.
