The current hot news all over the world is all about the foldable smartphone which Samsung and Huawei launched at the MWC 2019. With this launch Apple Guru,Steve Wozniak is hoping for a folding iPhone from Apple.

Based on the interview from Bloomberg:

“Apple has been a leader for quite a long time in a few areas such as touch ID, facial ID, and easy payment with the phone. They’re not the leader in areas like the folding phone, and that worries me because I really want a folding phone”

According to Wozniak, Apple has been only focusing on the new software upgrades. After the original iPhone launch on 2007, Apple is complacent when it comes to new innovation.

According to him, Apple was not successful in introducing a new product category. Sure they have been really good at making phones, tablets and computing devices, but that’s what the company does best, defining their product category. He thinks that if they (Apple) builds a folding smartphone and if it is done right, this could have a huge impact on their overall sales and revenues.

We hope Apple also join the race with Samsung and Huawei in launching the foldable smartphones.

Motorola jumps into the foldable phones market. And it’s probably with one of the most iconic names in the business. Motorola, a Chinese consumer electronics giant Lenovo, plans to sell its foldable smartphone in the summer, according to a person familiar with the company’s plans. The person said the design would be different from the Samsung Galaxy Fold, which debuted last week, or the Huawei Mate X, which was shown at the MWC Barcelona show on Sunday.

The device is almost certainly a revival of the Razr brand, reported by The Wall Street Journal with a $1,500 price tag. Wednesday’s Engadget confirmed the phone’s coming. The summer launch squarely places it between the launch of the Galaxy Fold, scheduled for 26 April, and the Mate X, which will be launched around mid-year, and further highlights the growing trend of foldable phones. The devices gained tons of buzz and talked about a revitalized MWC at a time when interest in phones was beginning to ripen.

As for now, we just have to wait for the reply from Motorola soon. Comment down below on your interest on the foldable smartphone. Do you think, this could be the game changer for mobile phone industries?
