USB4.0 adopts Thunderbolt 3 protocol

Thunderbolt 3 ports which was only available in Apple Mac devices sooner will be available to all laptops and computers which comes with USB Type-C port. Thanks to the USB4 standard which sooner will support 40 Gigabits per second (Gbps) data transfer rates and multiple 4K displays.

As for now, roughly 50 tech companies are reviewing the final draft of the USB4 specification. According to the organization, the USB4 standard specification document will be published mid of 2019. There is even a rumor that the next generation of iPhone could be using the USB-C.

Imagine if you have games worth of at least 20GB, you can transfer it to your external hard disk within few seconds. It will work seamlessly. At the same time, we might expect other technology companies might adopt this changes later around 2020 or 2021 only.

USB-IF organization is taking advantage over Intel announcement regarding to make Thunderbolt available to everyone without any royalty fee. We could expect the USB 4.0 could support charging speed of 100W of power and it is also backward compatible with the previous generations USB such as USB2.0 and USB3.0 devices.

Google disables its Google Photos for Android TV

Google had to discontinued the Google Photos app for Android TV due to the privacy concern issue. Two days ago, a bug has been found by a Twitter user. The bug technically allows the Android TV users to view other Google Photos accounts user. This mean anyone having the same model of Android TV, the user can view their “private” images.

Google have stated that they had to disable the app until they completely resolve the issue. Other than that, another Twitter user have reported the same issue too. According to Android Police, Google have verified that “it was not an issue of Vu Television but it was a software malfunction of the Google Home App. Once it is resolved Google will continue the application. For now, there isn’t any timeline on when the issue could be resolve by Google.

As for today, this small little have been tremendously popular where whenever you walk on the street, almost 80% of the Apple users walks with an AirPods. According to Max Weinbach, the new version of the AirPods which so called AirPods 2 most probably would support fast charging. This means, Qi wireless charging could be on its way to the AirPods 2. He has also stated that it will take 15 minutes to completely charge the AirPods 2. However, there could be a downside where, the charging case would be bigger than the current ones.

Recently, there is another rumor circulated around about the AirPods 2. It was said that the AirPods might come with a new black color options. Other than that, there is another feature which was circulating recently, which the AirPods 2 might have the noise cancellation feature. This is one of the feature which most of the Apple fans are waiting till the official launch. Moreover, this round we might get to see the “Hey Siri” feature on the AirPods 2 included with the water resistance feature. Nevertheless, we will have to wait for the official launch from Apple.

According to Applesfera, they claiming that Apple could launch the device on March 25 and probably could go on sale from March 29 onward. Since last year, Facebook have promised to roll out the new redesign messenger app to all its user worldwide. Since then, Facebook have roll out the dark mode Messenger in a few countries. But now it seems this feature is available for all Android users. What you got to do get this feature? How to enable dark mode in Messenger?

If you want to know how to enable dark mode in Messenger, you can do it easily. It is very simple. Just send someone a moon emoji and you are good to go!. Seriously, that’s how it is simple to get this feature. However, it was told that some of the users have to double tap on the moon emoji to enable this feature. Few of the users had to restart their Messenger app to activate this feature. Once it is activated, a warning message does pops up stating that dark mode is still in progress.

Touch N Go extends its pilot testing for RFID tag

Dear Malaysians, there has been quite number of circulation regarding the Touch N Go RFID tag in Malaysia tolls. Recently, TNG has opened new registrations to the users who wished to join the pilot test program. According to TNG, the registration slot has limit, so users should register as soon as possible.

As for now, the RFID tag only supports few number of highways in the area of Klang Valley. Registered users, will have to wait for an invitation from TNG via email to fill in their personal information. The main reason is to set the date and time for an installation of the RFID tag appointment.

Recently, TNG have also posted a promotion on its page regarding the 20% rebate for new registered customers. This applies for the first 10 toll trips till June 30. It is expected the RFID tag would replace the usage of the current SMARTTag once it rolls out all over Malaysia highways. The core benefit which the RFID sticker could offer is there is no require use of any batteries to work.

Well how does this device works? The RFID tag comes with a sticker embedded with a radio frequency chip which is used to stick it directly to the vehicle’s windscreen or headlamp. The sticker links to the users Touch ‘N Go eWallet app, where they can frequently monitor their top-up balance. Moreover, the app also allows the user to top-up their credit via online bankings or debit/ credit cards.

Did Samsung got it right with the Bluetooth earbud?

We are sure all the new S10 owners would be owning the new Galaxy Buds right now. Samsung have included this item into the S10 pre-orders which happened last week. Since then, it is told that Samsung has sold out all of the Galaxy Buds. Getting this earbuds is cheaper as we think. It costs around $129.00 USD (RM 525) which is slightly lesser than its competitor Apple’s Airpod.

These earbuds isnt’t the first earbud from Samsung. It took few years for Samsung to develop the right earbud which it was heavily inspired by the AirPod. Taking it as an inspiration, the Galaxy Buds works as how it should work.

Do you remember how does the Apple Airpod connects to your iOS devices. The same method the Galaxy Buds connects seamlessly. The Galaxy Buds supports other ecosystem too rather than only supporting Samsung platforms devices only. Other Android devices would have to download the Samsung SmartThings to make the earbud to work properly on other devices.

Although the Galaxy Buds case is much bulky than the Airpods, it still able to offer few advantages such as there is a charging light on the outside and it can be charged wirelessly using Samsung Wireless PowerShare. You just have to place your earbuds casing on the back of your S10 to charge your Galaxy Buds.

Tesla to launch Model Y SUV on March 14

Elon Musk who is the CEO of Tesla, announces that Tesla will unveil the Model Y SUV on March 14 at LA Studio. This is roughly another two weeks for the launch.

The Tesla Model Y will be the fifth car design which comes from Tesla’ shop since the company was founded in 2003. It was also said that Tesla Model Y would share 75% of its parts with the current Model 3. It is also noted that the current cheapest Tesla model is the Tesla 3.

According to Elon Musk, he predicted that the cost to build Model Y will be much lower than the Model 3. This is because, it shares the same components from Tesla Model 3 which are 75% are same components from the current Model 3. Tesla has also planned to produce the Model Y at its own factory at Nevada.

On his Twitter handle page also he tweeted regarding the size of the Model Y which is 10% bigger than the Model 3. This could highly impact on the price of the car too by at least 10% more than the current price of Tesla Model 3.

(UPDATE) – TM has updated on the service restoration on its Twitter account. The service was completely restored on Sunday morning 8.00 AM. Now all the residence over the area of Sarawak should be able to browse the Internet as usual.

As you know, there is an ongoing highway construction “Pan Borneo” has caused a landslide. This causes, a major service disruptions for Unifi and TM customers over the area of Sibu, Tanjung Manis and Jalau.

TM manged to alert their customers about the service disruption on its Twitter page around 5.14pm on March 2. TM have posted few pictures from the landslide too. Below are the pictures of the cable damage in Julau, Sarawak.

Spectre: Long exposure iOS camera app

Have you ever wanted to shot DSLR quality pictures using your iPhone? If yes, then this post is for you. Good news! Now you can also be a photographer by using your iOS camera.

Today, the creators of Halide which was a popular third-party iOS camera app that offers range of features such as RAW shooting features has launched another photography app Spectre. It costs around $1.99 USD (RM8.11) which offers long exposures functionality. We usually hear this term in the world of DSLR only. What is long exposure? Basically, it involves using a long duration shutter speed to capture a moving objects. This feature has not been available in any of the smartphones. Using the built in camera of iPhone, you could not use this feature.

But with Spectre, this going to be a whole new game changer for Apple iPhone. It does not only allow long shutter speeds, it uses AI and computational photography to produce a long exposure picture. Imagine taking a picture of a streets, it can clear the streets of car in some of the scenarios. Below are few shots which was taken using the Spectre app.

When it comes to long exposure, the shutter is opened for a certain amount of time to pull in more light. However, in Spectre it uses a different approach by taking hundreds of shots over a few seconds and it uses machine learning for scene recognition. Therefore, it uses AI stabilization for 9 seconds without the need of a tripod stand. In the usual cases, photographers has to use a tripod stand in order to get a long good exposure shots.

Wake up with YouTube Music or Pandora

How could it be if we can wake up with our favorite music as an alarm tone. Any smartphone can do this but that would be really troublesome to download the songs from online websites which technically it is illegal.

Thanks to Android for adding YouTube Music and Pandora services into its Google Clock app which is the default alarm clock of Android. This feature was added in the version 6.1 of its app. Last year, Android added Spotify service into the alarm clock app. Both YouTube Music and Pandora made their announcement on their Twitter news feed.
