After watching the tragic moment from Samsung, Huawei says it will delay the launch of its foldable smartphone, Huawei Mate X. Previously, Huawei plans to launch its first foldable smartphone on June. Now, Huawei is delaying the launch of Mate X to September. This will give ample time for Huawei to continue doing additional testing to the device.

Two months ago, before Samsung launches the Galaxy Fold, it gave few units to a few of the tech influencers for the review. During this period they found that there is a huge issue with its display. In order to avoid this issue, Huawei spokesperson told CNBC that Huawei is taking extra precautions steps before launching the Mate X to the consumer. The spokesperson told CNBC that Huawei doesn’t want to launch a product which will destroy their reputation.

Although the United States government bans the Chinese company, Huawei is very confident that Mate X is not affected by the ban. The spokesperson says Huawei Mate X will be running on Android operating system. This is because the Mate X is launched before the United States government add Huawei company into its Entity List.

Nintendo’s most famous Switch console is completely produced in China until today. As of January 2019, Nintendo has sold more than 32 million units of Nintendo Switch throughout the world. Now we are hearing that Nintendo might be moving its gaming console outside of China. The purpose is to avoid the trade war between the United States and China. This is first revealed by The Wall Street Journal.

Apple has already move its iPhone XR production outside of China to India. It’s next iPad and MacBook production will be moved to Indonesia to avoid the high tariff rate in China. For now, the South East Asia country could be taking up the chance to produce the next Nintendo Switch. As for now, the demands in the United States for the Nintendo Switch is high where more units has to be produce.

Countries such as Taiwan and Vietnam most likely to produce the Nintendo Switch. According to WSJ, Nintendo is planning to update another two new models this year. It is expected the new model to be less expensive than the previous model. Nintendo could come up with three-variant of Switch models later this year.

In conclusion, the higher the tariff rate increases, other brands also might be moving their production outside of China. If Nintendo moves the Switch production to Malaysia, we can expect more job opportunities for Malaysian’s and the price of Nintendo Switch also could be sold for a cheaper price. When it comes to vehicle petrol, Malaysian’s most used petrol brand is Petronas. Most of the Malaysian’s prefer to use Malaysia’s own brand rather than other imported brands. Now, Petronas is introducing Malaysia’s first mobile refueling service called Rovr. Rovr is similar to a petrol station, however, it is more mobile where it will be a convenience for vehicle drivers.

Back in October 2018, Petronas introduces Rovr as a pilot program. Since then, via Rovr more than one million liters of fuel have been delivered to both customers and business users. After receiving a lot of positive feedback from their business-to-business (B2B) customers, Rovr is ready to provide more to other entities says the CEO of Petronas Dagangan Berhad, Dato’ Sri Syed Zainal Abidin. According to him, this will be an effective way to refuel businesses that own vans and trucks.

Facebook launches a new feature called Facebook Watch a year ago. It is a video platform where its’ users can watch videos from various pages. Now Facebook is announcing a major milestone for the Facebook Watch video platform.

According to Facebook, there are more than 720 million people who watch videos on the Facebook Watch monthly basis. Every day, there are more than 140 million people who are spending at least one minute on Facebook Watch. Facebook says, daily there is an average of 26 minutes its visitors spend their time watching videos on the Facebook Watch.

Other than that, Facebook also introduces groups video watching feature where users can watch videos together with their friends. According to research done by Facebook, it seems friends who watch videos together are 8X more likely to comment on the videos in the Watch Party.

Earning from Ad breaks

Advertisement is the future of earning. Facebook begins advertising a few years ago. Now they introduce Ad break which is available to more than 40 countries including Malaysia and Singapore. Ad break is a short ad which will be played in a video on Facebook. Facebook is bringing its Ad break feature to Canada and in another few weeks, more languages such as Kannada, Marathi, Punjabi, Swedish and Telugu will be supported too.

Ad breaks help publishers to earn money from their videos. According to Facebook, the number of Pages which earns $1,000 (RM4,170) payouts per months increases more than 8X whereas, the number of Pages which earns over $10,000 (RM41,675) increases up to 3X.

Facebook is also partnering with other partners such as MTV and CNN. By partnering with these channels more original contents will be uploaded to Facebook Watch. Two months ago a day before Verizon rolls out its first commercial 5G service, South Korea launches its own commercial 5G services. That makes South Korea be the world’s first country to roll out 5G services commercially. During the launch itself, many of the users sign up for SK Telecom 5G service. Now in only 69 days, the telco provider reaches 1 million 5G subscribers.

The Ministry of Science and Technology of South Korea says back in 2011 when they launch the 4G LTE service, it took at least 80 days to reach 1 million subscribers. Now it just took 69 days to reach 1 million subscribers. That is 11 days earlier than the previous 4G LTE service. According to SK Telecom, an average of 17,000 users are subscribing to its 5G service daily.

In conclusion, the 5G network is still new in both the United States and South Korea. There are few limitations where only certain areas only the user can get the 5G network. This will improve in the coming years.

The drone is the future of business and it is also the future of transportation. According to Bloomberg, Uber is gearing up to launch its flying food delivery test service in San Diego. Most likely, Uber will start to test the drone-based food delivery service this summer.

At this moment, the only thing pending is the United States Federal Aviation Administration approval. According to Uber, it is very confident that the approval will be approved soon. Once Uber has the approval, it will be partnering with McDonald’s to deliver fast food. Both Uber and McDonalds also will be collaborating to determine how the food should be delivered to the customer and how to keep the french fries and ice cream hot and cold respectively.

Delivering food via drone is not an easy task. There are a lot of precautions steps has to be taken. At the same time, the weather is the main problem. What if a hacker sabotages the drone and takes over the control? Another issue that Uber needs to solve is the risk of the drone falling out from the sky towards the pedestrian.

One way to mitigate this issue is by designing safe landing zones around the delivery area. This is where food couriers will be waiting to collect the deliveries. Then the remaining journey will be completed either by car or bike. Another interesting idea Uber gives is by landing the drone on the roof of a parked Uber car. Through the QR code, the drone will land and the car will be driven to the doorsteps of customer.

Type of drone to take-off

For now, the information we have on the drone model is the AR200 which is the enterprise-level drone. This drone has six rotors where it is capable to cruise at the speed of 28km/h and the maximum speed of 56km/h. This is just the test drone only. Once the testing is completed, Uber will be designing a new drone design which can withstand any type of weather conditions.

According to Uber, the usual delivery will be taking at least 21 minutes to reach the destination. Now with the launch of an aerial food delivery service, the time can be cut down to 7 minutes.

In conclusion, Uber’s head of policy at the aerial division told Bloomberg that the drone food delivery service will take at least three years to bring it to the consumer market.

Back in 2011, Apple launches its new storage service called iCloud. iCloud stores all documents and pictures in the cloud storage. Apart from the Mac environment, Apple launches the iCloud software for Windows. During that time, Apple did not integrate it completely with the Windows environment itself. Now, after such a long time, Apple and Microsoft collaborate together to relaunch the iCloud software for Windows 10.

The main changes of the iCloud software with the previous version is the integration. Now, the iCloud folder appears same as the other folders in the Windows Explorer. This means the users can browse through their both Windows and Mac iCloud files in their Windows environment. According to Microsoft, the technology it uses for the iCloud software is the OneDrive’s Files On-Demand feature.

When drone was launched as a flying remote control device, none of us might have imagine how the future will be changing. A few months back, Uber confirms it will be launching is first flying taxi service in 2025. The latest update we have now is, Uber is choosing Melbourne as the first city outside of the Unites States for its Uber Air service test flight program.

Previously, Uber only plans to start its test flight service in Dallas and Los Angeles only. According to The Guardian, air transport service will be carrying passengers from rooftop to rooftop landing pads which are called as Skyports. This whole transport service is int the price of UberX.

As for now, we can confirm Uber will be launching its first test flights next year in these cities. Uber will be starting to roll out its commercial Uber Air flying taxis on 2023 which two years earlier than its previous comment. The Uber Air service will be using completely electric vertical take off (eVTOL) which shown as in the video below. Uber users can request this service via the normal Uber app.

One of the Uber spokesman told the Guardian that, the usual journey from the CBD to Melbourne airport will take around 25 minutes to 1 hours depending on the traffic. However, by using the Uber Air service, the journey will take roughly around 10 minutes only.

In conclusion, in another four years time, we can start using this flying taxi service in these four cities. In case you travel to these cities in the coming future, you might get the chance to try Uber Air service.

This is the official statement from Facebook on the informations it monitors.

Study from Facebook does not collect user IDs, passwords, or any of the participant’s content, such as photos, videos, or messages. We also don’t sell information from the app to third parties or use it to target ads, and it is not added to a participant’s Facebook account if they have one.

Controversies

According to the TheVerge, before the Study app launches, Facebook launches Facebook Research which is similar to Study. However, Facebook had to shut it down since it violates Apple rules. TechCrunch reported the Facebook Research app is targeted to the teenagers who use iPhone. The app uses a special certificate which allows gaining deeper access to the iPhone. Immediately, Facebook had to shut down this app. Now the Study app will only be available in Android only.

Participant Requirements

Facebook clearly states that the Study app will only be available to users who are 18 years above. According to Facebook, the user’s age will be verified based on the age on their Facebook account. Other than that, the users will need to have a PayPal account to get paid from Facebook. However, Facebook promises that neither of this information will be used to target advertisements to the users.

At this moment, Facebook did not reveal the payment amount. The first country Facebook Study will launch is in the US and India. For now, not many people can gain access to the Study app. Facebook will personally target its users through an advertisement and if the person sees it they can click sign up to join this program.

When it comes to video editing, there are hundreds of video editing app available in the both Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Most of us prefer to use 3rd party apps such as VivaVideo. Many of us have forgotten about the existence of Apple’s own video editor app called . To remember its existence, Apple is rolling the green screen feature to this video editing app.

Other than the green screen feature, Apple also adds 80 new soundtracks and ClassKit support to the iMovie app. There are more video editing apps which support the screen feature. Although, its a bit late for Apple, we feel its something good that Apple is adding into the app. This shows Apple is focussing on the user’s requested features.

What’s the green screen feature?

If you have watched the movie Avengers The End Game, you might have notice there are a lot of graphics especially during the climax scene. All the actions during the climax scene was done using the green screen effects.

Green screen is one of the overlays feature where it makes a color range in the two overlays clips transparent. This means the background of the video can be through. There is no limit of adding number of layers to it. You can take a video of a sky and use the green screen effect to make like a thunder strike from the sky. There are alot of desktop softwares which supports this feature.

Additional features on the iMovie app
