Here are the 11 reasons to buy the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro

Reading Time: 6 minutes read

It has been almost three weeks since Apple unveils iPhone 11 Pro. Interestingly, Apple launches the iPhone 11 in Malaysia a week after the first wave country which are Australia, United States and Singapore. Well, as the iPhone 11 is already here now have you decided to buy it? Here are the 11 reasons we feel it is worth buying the iPhone 11 Pro.

Apple’s new A13 Bionic chip

The new iPhone 11 series are equipped with Apple’s new A13 Bionic chip. This is not just a normal chip. If you notice other smartphones brands such as Samsung and Huawei, they have a separate CPU and GPU. This requires more power consumption. However, for the iPhone 11, you don’t have to worry about power consumption. The A13 Bionic chip contains the CPU, GPU and also the neural processing engine in it.

With the A13 Bionic chip, the iPhone 11 CPU and GPU performance have been increased up to 20% compared to the previous iPhone XS series. Besides that, the power consumption has been reduced up to 40%. The image above shows the proof of how the iPhone 11 series performance is compared to Huawei P30 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S 10+.

Here is the statistics of Apple’s chip from A11 to A13:

ChipsetOPS (Operations Per Second)
A11600 Billion
A125 Trillion
A138.5 Trillion

Apple’s 18W fast charging

Finally, after such a long time Apple has included the 18W fast charging adapter for the iPhone 11 Pro. Some of you might be thinking is it a big deal? Well, it depends on the person itself. If you own the previous generation iPhones then you know how worth is this. Previously, if you want to buy a fast charging adapter you have to spend at least RM150 to own one.

Now, you can even charge your iPhone while it’s connected to your MacBook via the UCB-C port. The iPhone 11 Pro lightning cable now comes with USB-C. Do note that only, the latest MacBook is equipped with USB-C ports. If your current MacBook is the previous generation model, then you might need a lightning adapter for you to connect your iPhone to your MacBook.

iPhone 11 has an amazing battery life

Besides that, you should consider getting the iPhone 11 is because of the amazing all-day battery life. Comparing with the previous iPhone XS, you can use your iPhone 11 Pro for up to 17.5 hours in a day. That’s 4 hours more than the previous iPhone XS. Whereas for the iPhone 11, it is able to last for up to 16.5 hours in a single charge. If you do the math, in a day we are working for 12 hours after that, we will be back home. Obviously, after going back home we will charge our phone. That’s totally sufficient to run for the whole day without worrying about carrying a power bank along with you.

Spatial audio

The other reasons we feel you should consider buying the iPhone 11 is spatial audio. What is spatial audio? It is an audio experience where you can hear the sounds flow from left to right in three-dimensional virtual space. When you watch movies on your iPhone you will get the immersive experience as if you are watching movie in a theatre.

Many current smartphones are now equipped with this feature. However, for Apple it likes reinvents things rather than inventing new stuff. Even the new Samsung Note 10+ supports spatial audio. You can watch movies from the Apple TV+ which offers Dolby Atmos sounding.

Slo-mo your selfies with slofies

Most of you might be wondering what is Slofies. This is something Apple is introducing for the iPhone 11 series. Basically, it is almost similar to Slo-mo. However, Slofies will be recorded using your front selfie camera. This feature is included in all whole iPhone 11 series. For the first time, you can record your Slofies in 4K resolution at 60fps. Here is the video of how you can record a slofie video.

Switch to video recording with QuickTake

Imagine you are capturing a photo suddenly you need to record a video. What would you do first? Firstly, you need to stop capturing and then you have to switch to video mode to record it. By the time you switch it, you might miss the moment you wanted to record a video.

Now, Apple is introducing a new feature called QuickTake. At this moment, none of the smartphones has this feature yet. With this feature, you can record a video immediately just by hold the shutter and then it will be switched to video recording mode. Isn’t it simple?

iPhone 11 Pro has the toughest glass in a smartphone

Do you drop your phones very often? Then the iPhone 11 Pro is the phone you should buy. According to Apple, the new iPhone 11 Pro has the toughest glass ever in a smartphone. Not only the back, but even the front glass is also as durable as the back glass. There are many drop test video which you can find on YouTube.

The first Water-resistant iPhone ever

The other reasons to consider buying the iPhone is the new IP68 rating. iPhone 11 now can be used in the water at the depth of 4 meters and up to 30-minutes. Remember those days, you have to make sure there isn’t any water spill on the iPhone. Now, you can stop worrying about it. Even your iPhone drops on your swimming pool. No worries, it still works.

Faster FaceID

In case you are planning to move from Android to iOS, we are sure you are going to love the FaceID. According to Apple, FaceID is now 30% faster in the new iPhone 11. Thanks to the A13 Bionic chip which made this possible. According to ZDNet, Samsung smartphone was able to achieve only a 33% success rate with the Iris Scanner. However, with the iPhone 11, all you need to do is pick up your phone and its unlocked.

Shot in low-light with Night Mode

One of the best reasons you should buy the iPhone 11 is the all-new Night Mode. The night mode feature has already been in a lot of smartphones for years. Till now, the world’s best smartphone which supports night mode is Google’s Pixel 3. You can capture some of the best night mode shots with its camera. Now, Apple has taken the throne to have the best night mode ever.

The Night Mode turns on itself once the camera detects a low-light situation. Even though, the surrounding is dark, the photo turns out to be crispier than expected. You can take similar night mode shots as if you are using your DSLR camera. With just your iPhone and the tripod stand, you can take beautiful night mode photos of car taillights.

Ultra-Wide Camera

Obviously, the very first reason you should buy the iPhone 11 is for the all-new camera system. The iPhone 11 is equipped with a wide camera and an ultra-wide camera. Whereas the iPhone 11 Pro features a triple-camera system. The main camera has a 12MP wide-camera lens, 12MP ultra-wide camera lens and a 12MP telephoto lens. You can even switch your camera lens while recording a video. This is something really useful for videographers.

Xiaomi’s Mi Mix Alpha is the world’s best concept phone

Reading Time: 3 minutes read

Apart from the Mi 9 Pro 5G and Mi Full Screen TV Pro, Xiaomi also unveils Mi Mix Alpha which is the world’s best concept smartphone. When we say the world’s best, we meant it. Mi Mix Alpha is a result of Xiaomi’s bold imagination for the future of smartphones in the 5G era. Here are the top features of the Mi Mix Alpha.

1. World’s first Surround Display

From the heading above itself, you should have an idea of how does this phone look like. First of all, with a single panel, the phone is designed. This is the word’s first smartphone to have the highest screen-to-body ratio of more than 180.6%. The phone lights up from the front to the side until the back. That’s is almost the entire display. Here are a few photos of the Mi Mix Alpha.

Not to forget, back in 2016, Xiaomi was the first smartphone maker who introduces Full Screen Display smartphone concept to the smartphone market. Now, 99% of the current smartphone features the Full Screen Display. Even Samsung is one of the smartphone makers who is following the same concept as Xiaomi. By looking at the trend previously, we can guarantee you that Mi Mix Alpha Surround Display could be the future of display in a smartphone in the next few years.

Since the Mi Mix Alpha has a complete bending display, the layers such as display layer, touch panel and protection layers are laminated one-by-one. The reason is to achieve high curvature Surround Display design where the internal stress could be released layer by layer. On top of that, Xiaomi also uses a very strong protective layer to protect the screen from breaking.

If you notice in the pictures above, there are almost no bezels for the Mi Mix Alpha. The bezels only exist at the top and bottom which makes Xiaomi removes the physical button on both sides. With this Xiaomi uses haptic feedback to simulate the touch of real buttons.

2. World’s first 108MP camera

Besides the world’s first Surround Display, Mi Mix Alpha also features the world’s first 108MP camera which has the highest resolution, highest pixel count, and the largest sensor exist in any of the smartphone ever. This largest camera sensor is being manufactured by Samsung. Even before Xiaomi unveils the Mi Mix Alpha itself, there was a rumour Xiaomi next smartphone to feature a 108MP camera lens. This is the next generation camera in the era of smartphone photography.

The Mi Mix Alpha features a triple camera setup where the main camera is a 108MP camera sensor with a 1/1.33-inch large sensor. That is almost 389% larger than the current 48MP camera lens. With the 108MP image sensor, Mi Mix Alpha can capture 108MP photos with a resolution of 12032 x 9024 pixels. Moreover, it also supports four-in-one Super Pixel which can produce large 1.6μm pixel under a low-light situation.

The other camera lenses are the 20MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 12MP telephoto lens. Using the 20MP ultra-wide-angle camera, you can capture 1.5cm super macro photos. Whereas the 12MP telephoto lens supports 2X optical zoom and Dual PD focus.

3. World’s luxurious titanium smartphone

The bezels of the Mi Mix Alpha which are at the top and bottom are built using aerospace-grade titanium alloy. Honestly, personally we haven’t seen any smartphone in the world is built using titanium alloy. According to Xiaomi, this alloy is three times stronger than stainless steel. Despite being built by stainless steel, it weighs very less than expected. In addition to that, the camera lenses are protected with a single piece of sapphire glass, which is embedded in the ceramic.

You can find all the technical specification of the Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha by clicking the button below.

Pricing and Availability

Being the world’s best concept smartphone, Mi Mix Alpha will be produced starting from a small scale production first. This will begin at the end of 2019 only. The official launch date has not yet been revealed by Xiaomi. However, the Mi Mix Alpha will be priced at RMB19,999 (RM11,765).
