This year best iPhone app of the year goes to Spectre Camera (Lux Optics). We are proud that we have reviewed this app at the beginning of 2019. In case you have missed it, you can have a look at our review article. Basically, Spectre is a photography app which uses the AI to create “stunning long exposures”. This app works well with the new iPad with the Apple Pencil you can write and draw easily.

This is a free app which you can download and try it out for 7 days. After that, you might need to pay for the subscription in order to continue using it. Most of the times we all wanted to transfer photos from Facebook to Google Photos. This can really take time because we might need to download the photos first and then only we can transfer it to the Google Photos. Today, Facebook is launching a tool which will allow users to transfer the uploaded Facebook photos to different services.

Currently, Facebook is rolling this feature with Google Photos first. Apart from photos, you can also transfer videos too using this tool. According to Facebook, this is not a new tool which they developed from scratch. This is the same tool which was launched back a decade ago which is used to download all your information from the site. In case you don’t know, Facebook allows you to download all your information from Facebook. The photo transfer tool is the extension of the previous tool.

When it comes to user privacy, Facebook are very strict about it. That’s the reason, you need to enter your Facebook password in order to transfer your whole information out of Facebook while keeping your data secure. Currently, Facebook is rolling the photo transfer feature to Facebook users in Ireland. It will roll out this feature to the rest of the world during the first half of 2020.

More services to be integrated soon

As for now, only Google Photos is being supported. We are not sure whether other cloud platforms are supported at the moment such as Apple’s iCloud and Flickr. We are assuming, Facebook will be collaborating with other platforms too by the end of 2020.

In a nutshell, this could be a great opportunity for most of us who always very seldom back up our photos from our smartphones. We will give it a try once this feature is available in Malaysia.

Huawei Mate 30 Pro is the first smartphone which does not use any of the American chips. This decision was taken when Trump’s organization bans Huawei Technologies from continuing business with the United States companies. Even though the United States government gives 90 days temporary license, but still, Huawei has found its own way to be successful without the help of the American companies.

Back in before May 2019, Huawei was happily doing business with the American companies. Most of the technologies used in the phone were supplied by the American tech companies. Even company such as Google was providing the overall Android OS for the Huawei devices. This includes Microsoft too who provides the software for the Huawei laptops and networking equipment.

Most of the time, Huawei purchases the chips from US companies such as Qorvo and Skyworks. However, after the ban, Huawei started to source the chips from Japan supplier called Murata. After that, Huawei has dropped purchasing from Skyworks. Even its WiFi and Bluetooth chips are not from Broadcom anymore. Now, Huawei is producing its own WiFi and Bluetooth chips.

Honestly, it is very difficult for Huawei to replace Google. This is something could be the last thing that could ever happen to Huawei. In the Huawei Mate 30, Huawei didn’t use Google Play services. Even it’s Android OS also is an open-source operating system. Rather than the Google Play Store, Huawei is using its own AppGallery app for you to download the app.

In conclusion, it is really great to see how Huawei has risen back after it was banned by the United States government. Moving forward we can expect the rest of the Huawei smartphones also will be “American Free” products.

Good news to Maxis subscribers! Maxis will be offering the Apple Watch 5 LTE starting December 13 onwards. It will be offering the Apple Watch Series 5 LTE via its well known Maxis Zerolution plan. At first, Digi offers the Apple Watch Series 5 LTE and then followed by Celcom and now Maxis.

Looks like all the major telcos have started to offer the new Apple Watch Series 5 LTE. However, Maxis is also offering the new iPad Pro bundled with its Maxis Zerolution plan. This could be the right time for you all to purchase both the Apple Watch Series 5 LTE and the new iPad Pro.

You can own the new Apple Watch Series 5 LTE and the iPad Pro with zero upfront payment. All you need to do is subscribe to the Zerolution package and on the spot, you will be given the Apple Watch Series 5 LTE and iPad Pro. According to Maxis, you can enjoy seamless connectivity with the Apple Watch Series 5 LTE. As we mentioned previously, you can call, text and access mobile data without carrying your iPhone along with you.

The Apple Watch Series 5 LTE should have VoLTE in order to use the voice calls. Finally, we can say Maxis will be offering the VoLTE feature in its network. Similar to Digi and Celcom, Maxis will be offering the eSIM for the Apple Watch Series 5 LTE. For the iPad wise, Maxis is offering 10GB high-speed data to enjoy watching movie on-the-go.

It has been three months since Apple unveils the iPhone 11 series. Previously, we got to know that Apple has patented its own in-display fingerprint scanner technology for its upcoming smartphone. Now, A Korean website called ET News is reporting that iPhone 12 could be featuring a complete screen.

This means the next iPhones will not have the LCD screen which currently Apple has in its iPhone 11. It also has been reported that Apple 2020 iPhone could be featuring curved-edge displays similar to the current Android smartphones. The reason is if Apple uses the OLED screen, it is thinner and it is flexible. Since its more responsive, can we expect the in-display fingerprint scanner technology in the next iPhone?

Apart from that, we also got to know that these OLED screens will be supplied by Samsung and LG. The ET News has also reported the 2020 iPhones could be featuring a 5.4-inch, 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch OLED screens. From these measurements above, you might have know which model could b featuring the largest and smallest screen.

In a nutshell, we can’t really confirm much on the specs yet as it is too early to confirm it now. But, it would be great if Apple integrates the in-display fingerprint scanner technology in the next iPhone series. It has been almost six months since Jony Ive leaves Apple and still his name was at the Apple’s Leadership page until yesterday. However, today the Cupertino tech giant has officially remove Jony Ive profile from the Apple’s Leadership page.

Back in June when Jony Ive leaves Apple, Tim Cook says that Apple will continue to be one of Ive’s client. The reason Jony Ive leaves Apple is to start up his own design company called, LoveFrom. Jony Ive joins Apple back in 1992 and then he leads the design team starting from 1996 until 2019. Now, Jony Ive joins hands together with his old friend Marc Newson to start up LoveFrom.

Since Jony Ive leaves Apple, COO Jeff Williams is the person who is responsible for the software and hardware design. With this new collaboration between Ive and Marc Newson, we can expect a better product design on the Apple products.

Apart from Digi, now Celcom has also announced that it will be selling the Apple Watch Series 5 LTE starting on the 13th December 2019. At the moment, Celcom allows you to pre-order the Apple Watch Series 5 starting on 6th December 2019.

According to Celcom, you can start to pre-order your favourite colour of your Apple Watch Series 5 LTE at all Bluecube stores nationwide. The Apple Watch Series 5 LTE can also be pre-ordered at the selected Celcom Certified Partners.

To recap, the cellular version allows you to make calls without carrying your iPhone along with you. Besides that, you can also play your favourite songs directly from your Apple Watch Series 5. However, the non-LTE version can allow you to make phone calls and stream music while having your iPhone with you along.

Similar to Digi, Celcom will be providing its eSIM which will use the same number as your current iPhone. In order to make calls from the Apple Watch Series 5 LTE, you need Voice over LTE (VoLTE) feature. Currently, this feature is not being provided by Celcom yet. But, with the launch of Apple Watch Series 5 LTE by Celcom, you can expect Celcom will be providing the VoLTE feature sooner than expected.

Currently, the Apple Watch Series 5 LTE is priced starting from RM2,199 for the 40mm version. Whereas the 44mm version is priced at RM2,399 onwards. Apart from the Apple Watch Series 5, you can also purchase the Apple Watch Series 3 LTE at RM1,299.

Since the pre-order will begin next week on Friday, probably after that only we can provide further information regarding the Apple Watch Series 5 LTE Celcom packages details. Stay tuned for more updates from us.

During the beginning of this year, we have seen many smartphones features a punch-hole front camera. Smartphones such as Samsung Galaxy S10, Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and Honor 20 Pro has an in-display front camera. Now, Redmi will be unveiling the world’s first dual punch-hole front cameras smartphone.

It is the Redmi K30 series which Redmi slated to announce it on 10th of December 2019. Apart from that, Redmi K30 is also the first Redmi smartphone to equipped with a 5G chipset. This is the first smartphone to support dual-mode 5G which is the 5G non-standalone (NSA) and standalone (SA) architecture.

Being one of the most affordable smartphones, it is great to see how Xiaomi’s sub-brand is trying to compete with Realme. According to Redmi General Manager, Lu Weibing, the Redmi K30 will be using MediaTek’s first 5G mobile processor. The Redmi K30 will be the successor of Redmi K20.

For the display wise, you can expect the Redmi K30 to feature a punch-hole display. As you can see it below, it is confirmed there will be dual in-display front cameras. At the moment, Vivo V17 Pro features a similar front dual-cameras. However, in the Vivo V17 Pro, it is a modulized pop-up selfie camera. We also received a rumour which shows the Redmi K30 could be having a 120Hz display.

Similarly, Oppo also will be unveiling its new smartphone in December. It will be supporting both SA and NSA architecture which is provided by Qualcomm X55 modem.

A month ago, Apple quietly unveils the AirPods Pro with Active Noise Cancellation. When Apple launches the AirPods Pro, there was an image which shows the AirPods as a plant which we see during our childhood cartoons. That specific image was trending for at least one week in social media platforms. But, still many people are liking it actually.

Many tech reviewers have confirmed that AirPods Pro is one of the best earphones. Today, Apple Malaysia has officially launched the AirPods Pro in Malaysia. The AirPods Pro is priced at RM1,099 at the moment. You can even purchase the AirPods Pro from AUthorised Apple Resellers too such as Switch and Machines.

To recap, Apple AirPods Pro has a customizable ear tip according to the size of your ears. To know the exact size all you have to do is connect the ear tip and from your iPhone, it can detect whether it fits your ears or not. Apart from that, Apple’s AirPods Pro is now sweat and water-resistant. However, you can’t literally pour water in it or swim with it. That could damage the AirPods Pro.

Other than that, one of our most favourite features is the Active Noise Cancellation. You can easily press and hold on the stem to hear the world around you. And you press and hold it again you will be into your own world again. This is somewhat really useful especially when you are travelling in public transport.
