Samsung unveils the monstrous Galaxy S20 Ultra

Reading Time: 4 minutes read

Finally, we are in the month of February. This means it is the month of tech. Today, Samsung unveils its latest flagship smartphone during its Galaxy Unpacked event. That is the Samsung Galaxy S20 series smartphones. Instead of two smartphones, Samsung unveils three of them which are the Galaxy S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra.

Galaxy S20 Ultra: Flagship with monstrous specs

The word “Ultra” itself defines that everything is extra in the S20 Ultra. You can view the Ultra device like the Pro devices in other smartphones which has the highest amount of specs.

First of all, the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra features the largest 6.9″ Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. This is the largest display Samsung has ever created for a smartphone excluding the Samsung Galaxy Fold. It also has a punch-hole display which houses the selfie camera. We will talk about camera specs soon. Besides that, the Galaxy S20 Ultra also has a remarkable 120Hz refresh rate screen which allows you to scroll seamlessly. As usual, Samsung S20 Ultra is also packed with the ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner.

Highest specs in a quad-camera smartphone

One of the best features of the S20 Ultra is the front and rear cameras. At the back of the S20 Ultra, it features a quad-camera setup which has a 108MP wide-angle as the main camera. It also has a 12MP ultra-wide camera a huge 48MP telephoto camera and also a DepthVision camera. Upfront it features a 40MP selfie camera. A 40MP camera? I don’t really think this going have any kind of difference at all. Probably Samsung packs all the highest camera specs because of the “Ultra” version device.

Apart from that, like our previous rumour on the Space Zoom, Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra features the 10x hybrid optic zoom and 100x super-resolution zoom. You also might be thinking Space Zoom means you can capture space photos too isn’t it. Well not really actually. It’s just a cool naming Samsung has it there.

The other eye-catching feature of the Galaxy S20 Ultra is for the first time ever the S20 Ultra supports 8K video recording. Hell yeah! 8K for a smartphone is the last thing I was expecting for this year 2020. Looks like 8K video recording is going be in most of the upcoming flagship smartphones for this year. Now, with the 8K video recording feature, Samsung introduces a new feature called 8K Video Snap. Using this feature you can first record the video and then you can zoom the video to take a 33MP still.

On top of that, there is also another new feature called Single Take. You can use this feature to take burst shot. But there is a catch in that, where the burst shot uses AI to capture multiple shoot variety format of images such as loop, rewind and also slo-mo. All of this is being done with just in this one-shot.

Under the hood, the Galaxy S20 Ultra features the Snapdragon 865 processor which is mated with mountainous 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM. Instead of a 1TB internal storage, Samsung decided to go with either 128GB, 256GB and 512GB internal storage options. However, you can still add additional storage via the microSD card slot for up to 1TB. I guess with the 1TB storage itself, you don’t have to delete any of your photos ever again on your smartphone.

Keeping the lights on is the 5,000mAh huge battery which can be charged with the USB-C. The Galaxy S20 Ultra also supports its 45W fast charging including the Fast Wireless Charging 2.0.

Pricing and Availability

The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra is now available in the US and also in Malaysia. In Malaysia, there is only the 128GB storage option which is now priced at RM4,999. However, in the US there is also the 512GB storage option which is priced at $999.99 (~RM4,137). The Galaxy S20 Ultra comes in two colours which are Cosmic Black and Cosmic Gray.

On top of that, if you pre-order now through the Samsung Online Store or Lazada Store, you can get the new Galaxy Buds+ for free. For more info visit the Galaxy S20 website now.

Here’s how you can fake traffic on Google Maps

Reading Time: 2 minutes read

Back in my college days, I always use the Google Maps app to know the traffic to my college. Everytime, when I look at the traffic on Google Maps, I always wonder how does Google Maps know there is traffic in the specific area. When time flies, I started to know that the surrounding mobile phones which decide the traffic in the area.

Thanks to an artist named Simon Weckert, he has shown a way on how to create your own fake traffic on Google Maps. All you need is hundreds of smartphones with you. Here’s how he managed to fake the traffic on Google Maps.

Simon easily fools Google Maps traffic by just using 99 smartphones. First of all, he opens Google Maps on these 99 phones and then he put all these phones into a wagon cart. Then he started walking into different streets in Berlin with his wagon cart. I am sure at first you might think is he is crazy, walking along the street with 99 phones.

Each of the smartphones has its own GPS sensor built-in. Theoretically, Google Maps can only predict the traffic by the movement of the smartphone. So when he filled the wagon cart with 99 phones, Google was assuming there is heavy congestion on the street, because all the phones are moving in a very slow pace. Simon even walkthrough through the street where Google Berlin office is located. But still, it still detected congestion in that street. Here’s the video of Simon walking along the street of Berlin with 99 phones in the wagon cart.

In conclusion, this is how you can fake traffic on Google Maps. Maybe you should try the same too in Malaysia and share the result to us.

iPhone 11 Pro has increased Apple’s revenue for 2019. If you notice many celebrities are using Apple iPhone because of the security features in it. This has opened an opportunity for other premium companies such as the Caviars to design the premium iPhone 11 Pro.

Recently, Tesla has unveiled the first-ever truck called Tesla Cybertruck. Its latest invention has shaken the whole automobile industry. Now, Caviars has designed the iPhone 11 Pro which was inspired by the designed of the Cybertruck. I know that’s not totally possible to own it but the first look itself is crazily designed.

First of all, the body of the iPhone 11 Pro is made up of titanium. The Cybertruck is made of strong stainless steel. The titanium body doesn’t only give the solid feel but it also gives the premium look which you can get it when you see the Tesla Cybertruck. If you notice the current iPhone 11 Pro it has rounded corner. But the Caviars iPhone 11 Pro has sharp edges exactly like Tesla’s Cybertruck.

The backside features a similar triple-camera setup with the “CAVIAR” engrave. This is where you can notice the sharp lines which you can see in the Cybertruck. At the front, there is titanium screen protection. This is similar to the Cybertruck glass design. Besides that, with the foldable titanium protection, you can even use it as a stand too.

Cyberphone is the latest Caviar’s iPhone 11 Pro name. The Cyberphone is just fancy. You can grab the Cyberphone for $15,860 (RM69,964) by requesting it online.

For more information on the Cyberphone, you can visit the Caviars official website.
