At the beginning of April 12, Samsung allows its users to preorder the Samsung Galaxy Fold from its official website. If you have registered on April 12 then you will be receiving the instructions on the preorder process on April 15.
From the Samsung registration site, it is clearly seen that the reservations are full now. However, it is still possible for you to get your hands on the Galaxy Fold, Samsung first foldable smartphone from April 26 onwards. April 26 is the official date the phone will go on sale.

Few weeks back Facebook faces the worst outage where users worldwide were not able to access to its application such as Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram. It seems like today Facebook applications is having service outage few minutes ago as reported by Mirror.
First, it was reported by the users in the UK and Europe and now seems like it is down in Malaysia too. We tried to access to WhatsApp and Facebook it was not working at all. However, this issue was first reported around 11 AM UK time which is 6 PM Malaysia time.
Upon checking with the downdetector.com we can confirm Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp is down as we speak. From the downdetector website also we can see there are more than hundreds of people are complaining across the UK and Europe. Apart from that, hundreds of people have also tweeted this issue on Twitter too. It seems some of them are showing an error message as “site can’t be reached”.
In conclusion, Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp are facing another service outage worldwide. At this moment has not commented on the service outage yet. We will keep you updated on the issue.
UPDATE – According to the downdetector.com, all three Facebook owned applications is live now. However, there is still no official confirmation from Facebook regarding this issue yet.
YouTube always adds devices into its YouTube Signature devices list. But before that, what is YouTube Signature device list? Well, in order for YouTube to add a device into the YouTube Signature device list, the device has to pass a several tests.
First of all the device has to pass the High Dynamic Range (HDR) test. YouTube team will try to play the videos to see whether the HDR quality is good as it says. Next, they will also check does the smartphone supports 360-degree support and also 4K-decoding. Another test which will be carried out is the high-frame-rate, and Digital Right Management (DRM) as well as the next-generation codecs. Once the device supports all those evaluations only, YouTube will add the device into its Signature device list.
For this year, YouTube is adding the new Huawei P30 and P30 Pro into its Signature device list. This means these smartphones able to provide the best YouTube video experience. Other than these smartphones, YouTube has already added 32 devices into the list which are Huawei Mate 20, Mate 20 pro, Mate 20 X, Pixel 3 XL, Xperia XZ3 and Galaxy Note 9. Five years ago, Facebook removes the chat service from the Facebook mobile app. With the removal of the service, Facebook forces users to chat using the Messenger app. However, now seems like Facebook might be working on to restore the chat service back into the Facebook app.
Researcher Jane Manchun Wong is the first person to discover this change. However, when she test the Facebook app, she finds Facebook only bring limited chat feature to the Facebook app. Most probably, for now, Facebook would not allow the calling, photo sharing and reactions feature. We also can expect, maybe this feature is not available because the chat service is still under development.

Skype is one of the most used application to make video calls. Few weeks back, Microsoft announces that soon Skype would be supporting up to 50 people for video call. Today we have been hearing that Microsoft soon will allow Skype users to share their phone screen during a video call session.
Microsoft is testing this new feature where it allows the users to share anything on their smartphone displays to their friends and family. The main use case we might think of is sharing the PowerPoint presentation from your mobile phone. This feature has not been rolled out to the public yet. As for now, it is in the beta testing phase. Previously, other business apps such as Cisco WebEx, GoTo Meeting, and Zoom has the mobile phone screen sharing feature. Looks like, Microsoft is finally focusing on the small businesses too. Recently, there are many issues related to Grab drivers. It is either the Grab drivers do something bad to the customer or the other way round. In order to curb this issue, Grab Malaysia is implementing the facial recognition feature for the Grab drivers. According to Grab Malaysia, the main purpose of this feature is to identify if there is any misconduct against the drivers.
Grab launches the unique Passenger Verification system widely to every Grab passengers. This feature is launch at the beginning of March, where newly registered Grab users has to take a selfie of their face through the Grab app. Then with the facial recognition algorithm, the app will be able to tell it is an actual human face. Other than that, the app also able to detect the face and rejects if the user uploads any inappropriate photos.
As part of the Grab’s #SaferEveryday Grab is aiming to raise the transport safety standards in Southeast Asia. Since the unique Passenger Verification feature rolls out on March the passenger-related crime rate has dropped by 30%. According to the Transport Minister, Anthony Loke, two days before Grab roll out this feature, there was a case where the Grab driver is the victim of the passenger crime. Grab announces the feature will be completely rolling out today to all Grab users.
Grab also give assurance that the photograph taken will only be used for a one-time verification process. This means the user’s data is protected under the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). Other than that, Grab is also planning to include another feature where the driver details will be removed from the trip history after 72 hours of completing the trip. The purpose is to ensure Grab drivers are safe.

Before the official 5G showcase event, Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) organizes a short media event to demonstrate the speed of the 5G network from various telco providers such as Celcom, Maxis, Digi, and U Mobile. The official showcase event is planned to be held on April 18 which is a week away.
Maxis shows off its 5G network speed
During the pre-showcase event, Maxis shows off their 5G network speed where the network speed is able to reach up to 4.2 Gbps. That is one hell of the fastest network in Malaysia. For the demo, Maxis uses the networking equipment from Huawei as both of these companies are working together to bring up the 5G network in Malaysia nationwide.

U Mobile shows off its 5G network speed
Other than Maxis, U Mobile also demonstrates the speed of its 5G network to the press media. U Mobile was able to touch the speed of 1 Gbps. As ZTE is their collaboration partner, the network equipment is from them.
Apart from Maxis and U Mobile, Celcom stoles the crowd by showing them its network capabilities in and out of the building. Celcom has the plan to show its first autonomous vehicle using its 5G network. It is said that its network will offer very low latency rates. We might need to wait until April 18 to get the big picture on what are they working on.

At this moment, Maxis, U Mobile, and Celcom demonstrate their network capability through the Non-Stand Alone (NSA) 5G network which completely relying on its LTE network. However, Digi steps ahead by showing a simple demo using the Stand Alone (SA) 5G network and the network speed it reaches is 1.6 Gbps. The major key difference is using the SA 5G network, it will directly improve the performance of the throughput and the cost is lower. Moreover, it also improves network efficiency too.
According to Digi, they have a plan to change a number of things on its 5G network use case demonstration, which is the usage of drones during the emergency. Other than the virtual-reality gaming, Digi is planning to focus on reality-gamble content.
In conclusion, Malaysians can expect to get the 5G network starting from late 2019 to early 2020 onwards.
