Skype is one of the most used application to make video calls. Few weeks back, Microsoft announces that soon Skype would be supporting up to 50 people for video call. Today we have been hearing that Microsoft soon will allow Skype users to share their phone screen during a video call session.

Microsoft is testing this new feature where it allows the users to share anything on their smartphone displays to their friends and family. The main use case we might think of is sharing the PowerPoint presentation from your mobile phone. This feature has not been rolled out to the public yet. As for now, it is in the beta testing phase. So, if you need to get your hand on this feature, then you might have to sign up here to get the beta access.

Previously, other business apps such as Cisco WebEx, GoTo Meeting, and Zoom has the mobile phone screen sharing feature. Looks like, Microsoft is finally focusing on the small businesses too. However, Microsoft announces this feature on their community post where it has the screenshot of it running in iOS. We can assume maybe Microsoft has not enable this feature yet on the iOS beta app.

In conclusion, we think this feature will be really helpful for small businesses and for others too. There is still no announcement date that when this feature will be rolling out publicly. However, the previous Skype feature was rolled out a month after the beta testing. Maybe, we can expect Microsoft to roll this feature soon too.

After the launch of iPhone, WhatsApp is built to support the iPhone only. Many of the users who use iPad have wishes WhatsApp will support iPad. Now, we have information that Facebook is working on building the WhatsApp for iPad. Previously, users had to use some workaround to use WhatsApp in the iPad. Soon that wouldn’t be necessary.

According to WABetaInfo, the iPad version of the WhatsApp will have a similar login process where users have to use their phone number to register an account. That’s completely weird because WhatsApp only allows one number per account. So how can you use WhatsApp? Actually, in order to use WhatsApp for iPad, users need to have the iPad with cellular enabled. This means you will have two WhatsApp accounts in two devices.

The user interface is still the same as the WhatsApp for Web where the chat screen is splitted into two. The first segment will have the users chats list and the right side will have the ongoing chat conversation. Other than that, the iPad version also supports voice calls and touch ID.

The new chat screen has a split screen style similar to WhatsApp Web, where users can see the chats they have ongoing with multiple users on the left and a single conversation thread with one user or group on the right. However, WhatsApp for iPad does not allow the user to update their status using the camera. The status feature is still available by using words.

In conclusion, WhatsApp will soon be available to the iPad once it is completed the development. Most probably, Facebook will collect user feedbacks before rolling it out worldwide. In the meantime, personally we would prefer to use the WhatsApp for Web which is easier.

Huawei Mate X will be available on June

Reading Time: 3 minutes read

It all started with a foldable smartphone. Apart from Samsung, Huawei also unveils its foldable smartphone, Mate X at the Mobile World Congress 2019. It is said that it is Huawei’s first commercial 5G compatible smartphone. This is the beginning of foldable smartphone technology. Probably, next Motorola could unveil its first foldable smartphone too.

During the announcement, Huawei didn’t really talk about the availability. Huawei only said it will be available in mid-2019. Today, Huawei is listing out the Huawei Mate X on its official website. It is also clearly noted that the phone will be available for purchase starting from June 2019.

Price and Specifications

Foldable Technology

As the Samsung Galaxy Fold does not fold completely, the gap can be seen clearly. However, Huawei Mate X is able to fold completely with no visible gaps. It is called the “Falcon Wing Design”. The hinge system which Huawei uses is completely patented and it has over 100 components inside it.

Talking about the screen size, the Huawei Mate X has an 8-inch large screen. It has 2480 x 2200 pixels screen resolution with an 8:7:1 aspect ratio. This is because of the folding feature. The Mate X has a dual display when it folds. This gives two screens of 6.6-inch and 6.38-inch.

As usual, Huawei uses its own chipset Kirin 980. It comes with 8GB RAM and 512GB storage. The Samsung S10+ offers storage of 1TB. Seems like smartphones can use as working PC or laptops. Maybe soon there would not be any PC and laptop in the future. This is because smartphones are getting smart day-by-day. Although the Huawei Mate X support dual nano sim card, only SIM 1 supports 5G.

Leica has been working with Huawei on each of the camera design of the Huawei smartphones. The Mate X has three cameras on the back side and two front cameras for selfies. At the back of the Mate X has a 40MP wide-angle lens, 16MP ultra-wide angle lens, and 8MP telephoto lens.

Two built-in batteries

How can a smartphone have two built-in batteries? The Huawei Mate X has it! Huawei Mate X comes with a dual built-in battery which sums up to 4,500mAh. That is about, 2250mAh for each battery. That is double of Samsung Galaxy Fold battery capacity. Apart from that, Huawei also introduces the new SuperCharge fast charging technology which supports up to 55W. It is said this technology allows its users to charge the Mate X from 0% to 85% within 30 minutes. That is totally dope!

With all these cool features, the Huawei Mate X could possibly price at $2580 (RM10,579). However, the official price isn’t revealed yet by Huawei.

In conclusion, with all these features, this smartphone is super expensive. Are you Malaysians ready to pay RM10,000 for a smartphone? On the other side, the Samsung Galaxy Fold is price at $1980 (RM8,118). Let us know your thoughts on the comment section below.

Although there are many companies which are offering drone delivery service, the Australian regulator, CASA said the Google Wing’s drone delivery service is the world’s first delivery service. It has beaten Amazon to offer a commercial drone delivery service. As for now, Amazon has not launched its drone delivery service commercially.

Other than Amazon, a Israeli startup Flytrex is running its trial run for the drone logistic service back in 2017 in Iceland. On the other hand, UPS is partnering with Matternet to use the drone service to deliver medical supplies in North Carolina.

In conclusion, it is proven drone is the future of delivery service. In another six years, we can expect the world first flying taxi to be launch by Uber. Like how we used to watch sci-fi movies, soon we can see huge drones flying over our head.
