Since the camera is the major issue with 9 PureView, HMD is planning to use Light camera technology. Light camera technology is a startup company which produces camera sensors for smartphone makers such as Sony and Nokia. It uses all of the cameras presents to snap a picture and then it smartly combines those picture to offer greater shots. Nokia will also be focussing on video and low-light performance shots with the 9.1 PureView. The team will be focusing on software algorithms to improve the camera speed.

Apart from that, we can also expect Nokia 9.1 PureView to support 5G capabilities. There are lot more features HMD will be announcing such as the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor and the current trending punch-hole display. For now, both the storage and memory details are not yet revealed.

Oppo redesigns the smartphone screen, Waterfall screen

Reading Time: 2 minutes read

Recently, we have been hearing different smartphone makers are redesigning the smartphone screen. The most current smartphones are bezel-less and with small notches at the top of the screen. Samsung will be introducing the punch-hole display for the Galaxy Note 10 sooner next week. A few hours ago, Oppo has completely redesigned the smartphone screen. Oppo is introducing the “Waterfall Screen” technology.

Oppo first posted a tweet on its official Twitter account regarding the waterfall screen technology. At this moment, Oppo did not reveal which model Oppo will be introducing this technology. Waterfall screen means, the screen almost completely covers the phone body. The screen is extended further around the edge of the screen at 88 degrees.

This is the first look of the Waterfall Screen technology. We are sure you will be totally amazed at what Oppo has done.

For now, there are few questions which not answerable yet. Since the screen covers the whole body, it is not clear whether the extended curved area will be touch-sensitive. If it is touch-sensitive, users might accidentally press on the keys when the phone is inside the pocket. Other than that, if you notice, there isn’t any space for Oppo to place the power button and volume buttons. Oppo has to find its way to place those buttons somewhere. One of the famous leakster, Ice Universe has posted a video of the Oppo Waterfall Screen technology in his Twitter account.

In conclusion, one thing for sure is Oppo will be introducing the Waterfall Screen technology very soon. Usually, Oppo teases its next model smartphone through some of their prototypes. We can’t wait to get our hands-on Oppo Waterfall Screen technology soon. We will keep this article updated once Oppo reveals more information to us.

All 2020 iPhones will support 5G

Reading Time: 2 minutes read

We are now at the Q3 of 2019 and sooner around September, we can expect Apple to launch the most anticipated iPhone XI (iPhone 11). However, this year we are expecting Apple to launch three new model iPhones. Sadly, these iPhones will not be supporting 5G yet. Most of Apple’s competitor’s smartphone is already supporting 5G currently. Next week, Samsung is ready to unveil the Galaxy Note 10 in New York.

Previously, when there is a 4G network, Apple took its own sweet time to launch iPhone which supports 4G. The reason is Apple feels its better to wait for the coverage of 4G or 5G to improve. Once the network is stable then they prefer to launch their own 5G devices. Today we have news from one of China analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo says all 2020 iPhones will be supporting 5G.

This is not the first time he says iPhone will be supporting 5G in 2020. Before this, he tells in a note stating that out of three 2020 iPhone models will support 5G connectivity. Now, he adds that all three models will be supporting 5G connectivity.

WE NOW BELIEVE THAT ALL THREE NEW 2020 IPHONE MODELS WILL SUPPORT 5G FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS. (1) APPLE HAS MORE RESOURCE FOR DEVELOPING THE 5G IPHONE AFTER THE ACQUISITION OF INTEL BASEBAND BUSINESS. (2) WE EXPECT THAT THE PRICES OF 5G ANDROID SMARTPHONES WILL DECLINE TO $249-349 USD IN 2H20. WE BELIEVE THAT 5G ANDROID SMARTPHONES, WHICH WILL BE SOLD AT $249-349 USD, WILL ONLY SUPPORT SUB-6GHZ. BUT THE KEY IS THAT CONSUMERS WILL THINK THAT 5G IS THE NECESSARY FUNCTION IN 2H20. THEREFORE, IPHONE MODELS WHICH WILL BE SOLD AT HIGHER PRICES HAVE TO SUPPORT 5G FOR WINNING MORE SUBSIDIES FROM MOBILE OPERATORS AND CONSUMERS’ PURCHASE INTENTION. (3) BOOSTING 5G DEVELOPMENTS COULD BENEFIT APPLE’S AR ECOSYSTEM.

Apart from that, the analyst also says Apple could be developing two types of 5G iPhones in 2020. The first model should be supporting mmWave and Sub-6GHz and the other model will only support Sub-6GHz.

APPLE MAY HAVE THE INTENTION TO LAUNCH THE 5G IPHONE, WHICH ONLY SUPPORTS SUB-6GHZ, TO GAIN MARKET SHARE BY LOWERING THE COST/PRICE FOR MARKETS WHICH ONLY SUPPORT SUB-6GHZ (E.G., CHINESE MARKET). HOWEVER, 5G IPHONE, WHICH ONLY SUPPORTS SUB-6GHZ AND THE VERSION WHICH SUPPORTS MMWAVE & SUB-6GHZ ARE REGARDED AS DIFFERENT PROJECTS EVEN THOUGH THEY SHARE THE SAME FORM FACTOR DESIGN.

Last week, Apple confirms its interest to acquire Intel’s 5G model business for $1 billion (RM4,119,450,000.00). Looks like, Apple might not be using the Intel’s 5G modem yet for the next year iPhones. However, Apple most likely to continue with Qualcomm 5G chips instead.

In conclusion, Apple will be unveiling their next-generation iPhone on September. We will be covering the live updates during the launch event. Do follow our live blog for more updates.
