Huawei offers a VIP home delivery service for the Mate Xs

Reading Time: 2 minutes read

In light of the movement control order by the Malaysian government to curb the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the country, HUAWEI has taken measures to ensure that no one has to miss out on enjoying its latest flagship foldable device – the HUAWEI Mate Xs. The sales launch of HUAWEI Mate Xs will proceed as usual on 20 March with HUAWEI debuting their VIP home delivery service.

Huawei’s first VIP home delivery service

With its customers’ health and safety as a top priority, HUAWEI is rolling out for the first time, a delivery service which will send every purchase of the HUAWEI Mate Xs from its e-commerce store, right to its customers’ doorstep – to ensure that they are able to fully enjoy this flagship foldable smartphone.

To meet heightened demand for the HUAWEI Mate Xs, HUAWEI has ramped up its e-commerce capabilities and is now able to deliver more efficiently. Customers can choose either to have their new HUAWEI Mate Xs delivered right to their doorstep, or they can order it online and then collect it at the HUAWEI store nearest to them or at their preferred HUAWEI store.

Dispatchers will have masks on at all times during delivery to ensure the safety and health of the customers. They will also call the customer ahead of arriving at the delivery location and will sanitise the parcel in front of the customer before handing it over.

Three Months Warranty on Screen Replacement

Committed to looking after its customers’ peace of mind during this period of movement controls, HUAWEI is providing a one-time screen replacement within three months from the date of purchase of a new HUAWEI Mate Xs. This covers accidental damage caused by drop, fall and other collisions.

It does not, however, cover damage resulting from unauthorised disassembly or repair, misuse and abuse of the device, improper installation or modification of the device, or damage caused by spillage of food or liquid, corrosion, rust or the use of wrong voltage.

The three months warranty comes on top of a variety of other perks HUAWEI is offering with the purchase of the HUAWEI Mate Xs — including a pair of HUAWEI’s Freebuds 3 worth RM679 and an Envelope Leather Case for HUAWEI Mate Xs worth RM299.

Apple unveils the new iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard

Reading Time: 4 minutes read

When it comes to the worlds best tablet, the answer surely would be Apple’s iPad. iPad Pro has reinvented how a tablet should be used. Back when Apple unveils the iPad Pro, fans went crazy over it because it was big and it has tons of new features. Well, yesterday evening Apple surprises us by unveiling the new iPad Pro.

With the launch of the new iPad Pro, Apple promises to replace PC with the iPad Pro. When we heard about it, we knew the there aren’t any changes towards the design. That’s the reason Apple name it as the new iPad Pro similar to the previous new iPad. However, Apple has added some power-packed features to the new iPad Pro which the previous iPad Pro don’t have it.

There aren’t any changes to the display. It still uses the Liquid Retina display which the 3rd generation iPad Pro has too. Apple claims that it uses the “industry-leading colour accuracy” with the Pro Motion technology. The colours are vibrant and crispier now with the latest iPad Pro. It has the screen refresh rate at 120Hz which very few smartphones support. The iPad Pro comes in two variant which is the 11″ and 12″ model.

Thinking of the camera, we actually predicted the next iPad could be having a similar camera design with the iPhone 11 Pro. Looks like our prediction is correct once again. Some say the iPad Pro features a triple-camera setup. But for us, we are going to stick with a dual-camera setup. You will know the reason soon.

The first camera is the 12MP wide camera and a 10MP ultra-wide camera. The third one is something we didn’t expect at all. If you look at the image below, it looks like a triple-camera setup. But the third one is not a camera rather it is a scanner technology. Apple is calling it the LiDAR scanner. The LiDAR stands for Light Detection And Ranging scanning technology.

Did you know that this technology is only being used by NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration)? According to Apple, NASA is using this technology for its next Mars mission. The LiDAR scanning technology is used to determine distance by measuring how long it takes light to reach an object and reflect back. Using the LiDAR scanner in the iPad Pro, it improves the Augmented Reality (AR) performance tremendously. And also not to forget with this LiDAR scanner the AR is more realistic than ever.

The new iPad Pro also features the latest A12Z Bionic processor. Apple claims that the A12Z Bionic processor is now faster than most of the PC laptops out there. Obviously, with all these power-packed features the iPad has to be powerful than ever. Besides that, it also has a 8-core graphic processor which allows you to continue working on your iPad without thinking of your PC laptops. What if we say that now you can edit your 4K videos on your iPad Pro.

Magic floating keyboard?

Next is we are going to share you about the latest accessory from Apple for the new iPad Pro. It is the Magic Keyboard. The main reason Apple says it is the floating keyboard is that the iPad is not attached to the keyboard directly. The iPad Pro floats with the keyboard, which slightly looks like the iMac design. Assuming the iPad is floating now, you can easily change the viewing angle of the iPad with the hinge on the Magic Keyboard.

On top of that, the Magic Keyboard also comes with the trackpad which you can only get from the MacBooks only. Back in 2019, Apple announces iPad OS which will replace the iOS for the iPad’s. And that’s what Apple is doing right now. It’s changing the way to use the iPad Pro with the iPad OS. Besides multitasking, you also get a new cursor now with the iPadOS.

Most interestingly, the Magic Keyboard comes with a USC-C port which allows you to charge your iPad Pro with passthrough method. You can easily remove the iPad Pro from the Magic Keyboard when you are not using it. It attaches magnetically to the Magic Keyboard. The best feature of the Magic Keyboard is, it lights up where you can even work on your iPad Pro during the night. The new Magic Keyboard even supports the previous iPad Pro too.

iPad Pro Pricing and Availability

With all these amazing features on the iPad Pro, it has to be expensive. Apple products aren’t reasonable up until now. The price of the iPad Pro starts from RM3,499 for the 11″ WiFi model and RM4,399 for the 12″ WiFi model. The cellular model starts from RM4,149 for the 11″ model and RM5,049 for the 12″ model.

For the Magic Keyboard wise, it will only be available in May 2020. There isn’t any pricing info on the Magic Keyboard itself yet. However, a few sources claim that it is priced at RM1,349 and RM1,549 for the 11″ iPad Pro and 12″ iPad Pro respectively.

The new iPad Pro is now yet available in Malaysia yet. At the moment, Apple didn’t mention the official date it will be available in Malaysia yet. We are assuming the iPad Pro won’t reach to Malaysia shore yet until June 2020 due to the Covid-19 outbreak worldwide. Anyways, let’s wait for an official confirmation from Apple itself.

This Facebook bug marked posts as spam

Reading Time: 2 minutes read

We are now in the era of Covid-19 where the WHO has declared the Covid-19 as a pandemic. Smartphone makers have cancelled all the product launch events until June 2020. Tech giants such as Google and Facebook are working round the clock to curb fake news regarding Covid-19.

However, today morning we notice that Facebook has marked all our recent posts as spam in our TechmonQuay Facebook page. We were shocked when we saw it because none of our posts is spam-related. But then sooner, we notice that not only us but many users worldwide have started to complain that many of their posts have been marked as spam. This includes in Facebook-owned Instagram too. If you have posted anything related to Covid-19 then probably, your post might have been marked as spam too.

facebook-post-marked-as-spam

Later today, the Facebook head of security claims that this is a bug which causes Facebook to mark post on the topic related to Covid-19 as spam. Facebook developed its own anti-spam system which uses AI to determine whether a post should be marked as spam.

According to Facebook’ VP of integrity, Guy Rosen, he claims that Facebook has fixed the bug which causes this issue. This doesn’t mean that you can post any topics related to Covid-19. Facebook will still use its own content moderator to check your post. Facebook has also restored all the posts which were accidentally removed from the app.

A few weeks ago, Huawei unveils its most awaited foldable smartphone, the Huawei Mate Xs. This was known to be one of the most expensive smartphones from the China tech giant. And now, Huawei Malaysia is ready to unveil the Mate Xs in Malaysia starting on 20th March 2020. Huawei has already unveiled its price to us and we are shocked to know the price of the Huawei Mate Xs.

At the beginning of this week, Huawei has posted the Huawei Mate Xs in the Lazada online store. The gigantic foldable device is currently priced at RM11,111 in Malaysia. However, sadly at the moment of writing this post, the Huawei Mate Xs is currently is out of stock. This shows how eager people are ready to purchase the Huawei Mate Xs. We are not sure yet though whether Huawei will update its stock for now. Anyways, we will update you all once there is an update from Huawei.

If you missed out to order the Huawei Mate Xs from the Lazada Online Store, you can still wait until 20th March 2020 to purchase the Mate Xs. Huawei Malaysia is also offering free gifts worth of RM978. The free gifts consist of leather cover for the Mate Xs and also Huawei’s latest FreeBuds 3. As of, for now, the Huawei Mate Xs is out of stock in the Huawei Online Store too.

Huawei Mate Xs Specs

To recap on the specs, Huawei Mate is just an updated version of the Huawei Mate X. The Mate X was supposed to launch globally in 2019 but due to some design changes, Huawei did not launch the Mate X globally. So, instead of the Mate X, Huawei launches the Mate Xs with a few changes. First of all, the Mate Xs features an 8″ foldable FullView display. It has a resolution of 2480 x 2200 pixels. When the device is folded, then you will get a 6.6″ display with the screen resolution of 2480 x 1148 pixels. And not to forget, the rear display also comes with a 6.38″ rear display.

Under the hood, the Huawei Mate Xs is powered by the Kirin 990 processor which supports 5G. With this powerful processor, the Huawei Mate Xs is mated with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. Keeping the lights on all-day is the huge 4,500mAh battery which supports the 55W SuperCharge via USB-C. Surprisingly, the Huawei Mate Xs does not support the Qi wireless charging.

At the camera department, Huawei Mate Xs features a quad-camera setup. There is a 40MP main camera, an 8MP telephoto camera, a 16MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 3D depth sensor. There isn’t a front camera in the Huawei Mate Xs. This is because the rear camera can be used as the front camera. One of the features of the camera we feel is impressive is the Mirror Shooting feature. Using this feature, the person you are capturing can view their face as if looking at the mirror on the phone.

Overall, that’s the specs and the price of the Huawei Mate Xs in Malaysia. You can start to order the Huawei Mate Xs from both Lazada online store and Huawei online store too. Follow our Facebook page for more tech updates.

Samsung offers free smartphone sanitizing service

Reading Time: 2 minutes read

I am sure all of you already know that the Covid-19 has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO). The WHO advises all of us to wash our hands as frequently as possible. But did you know that you have to clean your smartphones too frequently?

Keeping your smartphones clean is compulsory. That’s what Samsung thinks too. Thanks to Samsung Malaysia, now your smartphone can be cleaned by Samsung’s Galaxy Sanitising Service. This is a free service which Samsung is offering for all its Samsung devices.

I know you will be thinking what’s the difference Samsung cleaning your smartphone than you cleaning it by yourself. Well, first of all, Samsung says that it will be using UV-C light to clean your Galaxy devices. This is a technology which a company PhoneSoap has developed back in 2009. According to Samsung, it has tested this technology before offering it to its customers.

All you have to do is bring along your Samsung smartphones and walk into the nearest service centre to sanitize your smartphone. Did you know that your smartphone has 18 times germs compared to the germs in the restrooms? Watch the video below to know what is PhoneSoap.

However, Samsung did not mention that using this 3rd party device it will kill all the bacteria, germs or viruses yet. But to avoid having contact with the germs, it’s better to bring your Galaxy devices to your nearest service centre to get it sanitized for free. Apart from Samsung, Apple also has also revealed a few ways to disinfect your Apple devices too. All you need to do is use the alcohol wipes or Clorox Disinfecting Wipes to clean your Apple devices.

In conclusion, it’s better to keep your third hands clean too apart from your both hands. For more information visit the Samsung website for more information on Samsung Galaxy Sanitising Service in Malaysia.
