After many rumours in the past few weeks, Apple has finally confirmed its upcoming event. Today, Apple has sent out its event invitation to every Apple users via email. From the invitation, Apple confirms that the event will be on the 20th of April 2021.
Similar to its last years events, its upcoming event also will be livestream from Apple’s headquarters, Apple Park in Cupertino. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, most of the tech giants are having their events streamed live. As usual, Apple has its own tagline in its event invitation. For this upcoming event, it has a tagline “Spring loaded”.
From the invitation logo, what we were able to guess is, we are almost certain that Apple will be introducing new iPads with new chips. The main reason we say so is because back in 15th September 2020, Apple introduces new iPad models. If you look at the September event logo, it is almost similar to the Spring loaded event. Here’s the comparison of the logo below.
Early this week, before Apple confirms the event date itself, Apple’s AI assistant, Siri has confirmed the event date. Anyways, since now we have already know the date, all the Apple fans can enjoy watching the event live either from Apple’s website or Apple’s Youtube page as shown below. The event starts at 10 AM PDT time which is around 1 AM Malaysian Time.
In conclusion, there are chances for Apple to introduce other new products too besides new iPads. Stay tuned for more updates from us soon after the event.
Foldable smartphones is what smartphone makers are looking into. One example smartphone maker is Xiaomi. This week, Xiaomi has unveils its first-ever foldable smartphone. It is called the Mi Mix Fold.
Last year, Xiaomi unveils the Mi Mix Alpha concept smartphone which didn’t really go well as expected. So Xiaomi decided to create a more relevant smartphone similar to its competitor Samsung and Huawei. First of all, the Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold looks exactly similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 2. Nevertheless, lets see how does the specs are with the Mi Mix Fold. Could it really compete with Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Huawei Mate X2?
Mi Mix Fold Technical Specifications
First of all, the Mi Mix Fold has two large displays. Upfront, it has 6.52″ AMOLED display which comes with 90Hz screen refresh rate. Then the inner display, it has a 8.01″ flexible OLED Quad HD+ display. According to Xiaomi, this is the largest foldable display for a smartphone. However, the screen refresh rate is reduced to 60Hz only.
For the camera wise, the Mi Mix Fold features a triple camera setup. The main camera comes with a 108MP lens. Whereas the other two cameras are a 13MP ultra wide-angle camera and an 8MP telephoto camera which has a 30x telephoto zoom. The interesting thing is the Xiaomi Mi Mix also uses the liquid lens camera which is the world first smartphone to use this technology.
World’s first-ever liquid lens camera smartphone
With the liquid lens camera, Xiaomi has developed a high precision motor that offers 3x optical zoom and up to 30x telephoto with a minimum distance of 3cm. This means the liquid lens camera can be used as two cameras using a single lens. For example, the current telephoto camera can also be used as a macro camera too.
For those of you who are interested in taking selfies, there is also a 20MP front selfie camera. It also comes with added Xiaomi features too for selfies.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G processor is used to provide top-notch performance. It also comes with 256GB UFS 3.1 storage and also 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. There is another model too which has RAM’s up to 16GB and storage up to 512GB.
Xiaomi uses the butterfly-type cooling system
Since it is a folding smartphone, there are high chances for the Mi Mix Fold to get heated easily. For that reason, Xiaomi has adopted the butterfly-type cooling system. According to Xiaomi, the Mi Mix Fold integrates large-area VC liquid cooling, thermal gel, multilayer graphite sheets and other heat dissipation methods. Through this method, it cools down the entire device easily.
Keeping the lights on, on the Mi Mix Fold is the large 5,020mAh battery. Similar to other foldable smartphone makers, the Mi Mix Fold also uses dual-battery architecture which has two batteries that charge at the same time. To quickly charge your smartphone you can use the 67W wired charging via USB-C which can charge the Mi Mix Fold completely in just 37 minutes.
Pricing and availability
As for now, the Mi Mix Fold is not available in Malaysia. So you probably might need to import it directly from China. The 12GB RAM + 256GB storage model starts from RMB 9,999 (RM6,100). The highest model model 16GB RAM + 512GB storage is priced at RMB 12,999 (RM8,200).
Could the Mi Mix Fold launch in Malaysia too? The Mi Mix Alpha didn’t make its way to Malaysia last year. But there are high chances for this foldable smartphone to reach the Malaysia shore in the coming months too. For more information, visit the Xiaomi website.

Hacking is one of the most difficult activity in this 20th century. However, back in July 2020, a group of hackers have hacked Twitter. The worst part is, they have hacked verified Twitter accounts. Finally after almost a year, the hackers has been arrested and put into prison.
A few teenagers has taken their chance to hack into Twitter and send tweets from verified accounts. For example, Apple, Elon Musk and Barrack Obama official Twitter account was hacked by them. They tweeted a Bitcoin scam tweet which makes people to donate Bitcoins to them. According to sources, the teenager groups have gained more than $100,00 in forms of Bitcoins.
Currently, the authorities have arrested the main culprit behind the attack. His name is Graham Ivan Clark from Florida, who is just 18-years old now. Besides that, the police have also arrested two of his accomplice Nima Fazeli from Orlando and Mason Sheppard from the United Kingdom.
All of them are pleaded guilty and sentenced to a 10-years prison sentence. However, due to his age, Clark was given a three-year prison sentence. He might have to serve some of his time in a military-style boot camp. According to State Attorney Andrew Warren, the main purpose of giving the punishment is to show the consequences they have to face as a teenager. At the same time, they must learn their lesson without destroying their future in the prison.
In conclusion, through this verdict, it will clearly be seen that even though it is a teenager, the punishment will be similar to adults. However, the jail sentence will be reduced and server their remaining time in a military-style boot camp.
It has been a few months since WhatsApp got its hands on the hot water due to the new privacy policy feature. Even though WhatsApp has already given assurance that it will not store WhatsApp messages yet WhatsApp users have moved away from WhatsApp and joined Telegram and Signal.
According to our WhatsApp reliable leakster, WABetaInfo confirms that WhatsApp is implementing a new feature to improve the security of its cloud backup. The current WhatsApp allows you to store your messages in cloud storages such as Google Cloud or iCloud. However, until now WhatsApp hasn’t really find a way to backup all messages in a single cloud storage platform.
Currently, there is a problem when you switch from Android to iOS or vice versa. The reason is because both these devices are using different cloud backups. We wish, WhatsApp will made a new feature to fix this issue. But in the meantime, WhatsApp is adding a password protection feature for its cloud backups. With this new feature, users don’t have to worry about the security of their WhatsApp messages.
The WABetaInfo have shared to us a screenshots of how the feature works. They have also mention that this feature will be available in the near coming future for both iOS and Android devices.
• The chat database is already encrypted now (excluding media), but the algorithm is reversible and it's not end-to-end encrypted. • Local Android backups will be compatible with this feature.
The chat DB and media will be encrypted using a password that only you know. https://t.co/WAliLUnF18
How it works is by requesting you enter your password before enabling your chat backups. Once you got a new smartphone or you reset your smartphone, then you need to reenter your password in order to start the restoration process. Do note that the backups as for now only involves messages only except medias.
In conclusion, it is a bad time for WhatsApp to regain its good names by adding this new feature. Nevertheless, we believe this feature is something useful for those of you who are concern about your messages being stored in the cloud backups platform.

Maybank is one of the oldest banks in Malaysia which it has more than 10 million customers until today. Every day, there are thousands of people who are performing online transactions through the Maybank2U app. Most of the transactions requires a Transaction Authentication Number (TAC) which will be sent to their phone SMS.
However, since the launch of the Secure2u feature, Maybank has started to encourage its customers to activate it so that they don’t need to use the TAC code verification method. Finally, 15th March is the day where Maybank will be terminating the TAC code verification for both online bill payments and Interbank GIRO (IBG) transactions.
How many of you have activated the Secure2u feature on your Maybank2U app? If not, read this article until the end to find out how to activate the Secure2u feature.
What is Secure2u?
First of all, what is Secure2u? Secure2u is a feature that Maybank customers can use to authorise their transactions. Each time when you make either a bill payment or fund transfer, you will receive a notification on your app which allows you to either approve or reject a transaction.
Besides that, you can also use the Secure2u feature to generate a Secure TAC for your transactions too. Do note that, the Secure2u feature only works on your registered device only. If you change to a new smartphone, then you need to reactivate the Secure2u feature on your new smartphone.
How to activate Secure2u?
Activating Secure2u is quite simple only. First of all, you need to download the Maybank2U app for either iOS or Android. Once that is done, you can open the app and then login into your Maybank2U account. From there you need to tap on the drawer menu which will show you options to click. Then tap on the Secure2u option and then you just need to follow the on-screen instructions such as entering your identification number.
Once this is done, then you are good to go. You can start to use the Secure2u feature for all your transaction. Therefore, Maybank also says that the Secure2u feature is one of the most secure ways to authorise your transaction as its only usable on your registered smartphone only.
In conclusion, our advice to you all would be to activate the Secure2u feature to make your life easier. For more information on Secure2u, you may visit the Maybank Secure2u page.
Even though the COVID-19 vaccination has begun worldwide, yet the World Health Organization are requesting everyone to continue to wear a mask when they are outside from their home. Especially, when you are using the latest smartphones from Apple, you only have the option to unlock your iPhone using your face.
Good news to a select group of iPhone users because Apple will be rolling out its latest iOS 14.5 software. In this latest software update, iPhone users can unlock their iPhone while wearing a mask. The current iOS 14, does not allow you to unlock your face while wearing a mask. The reason is that when the user wears a mask on their face, the Face ID sensor will not be able to detect the face. We will tell you why only selective groups of iPhone users will be able to use this new feature in the iOS 14.5.
However, before Apple launches the iOS14, Apple did rolled out a faster way to unlock your iPhone while wearing the face mask. With the iOS 13.5, the Face ID detects the face mask and then immediately request you to enter your passcode. Yet, that’s not an ideal solution for the current situation. With the upcoming iOS 14.5, this is more realistic.
How to unlock iPhone while wearing a face mask?
Apple is bringing this new feature in the upcoming iOS 14.5 software update. All you need to do is look at your phone as how you will unlock your phone and it will unlock easily. However, there is a catch in it. This new feature will require you to wear your Apple Watch, then only you can use this feature.
Basically, this feature name is “Unlock with Apple Watch”. Now, you know the reason, why we said only selective users will be able to use this new feature. To those of you who don’t own the Apple Watch, then you won’t be able to unlock your iPhone while wearing a face mask.
But, to those of you who are in the Apple ecosystem, then you can easily use this feature to unlock your iPhone. With the upcoming iOS update, you will be able to view this new feature on the Face ID settings page. After enabling this feature, you can use your Apple Watch to unlock your iPhone. Before you enable this feature, you need to also update your Apple Watch to the latest watchOS 7.4 in order to use this feature.
Image from 9to5Mac
Once you have all the latest software up and running, each time when you unlock your phone, you will receive a chime on your Apple Watch. And then once you unlock your Apple Watch, your iPhone will be unlocked too. This feature is not something new to Apple because there is a feature where you can use your Apple Watch to unlock your Mac. So, Apple is just bringing a similar feature to the iPhone.
Personally, we find this feature not so useful when it comes to your iPhone. First of all, there is a delay in unlocking your iPhone. Second, you have to wear your Apple Watch in order to use this feature. If your Apple Watch is not near to you then you won’t be able to unlock your iPhone using this new feature.
Well, unofficially, there is a small hack where you can use your iPhone to unlock your iPhone while wearing your face mask. We have tried it before, and it is pretty efficient. Only the setup process is kinda tedious at first. But once you have managed to set up your Face ID then, you can easily unlock your iPhone while wearing the face mask.
In conclusion, if you are not up for the small hack as shown in the video above, then you can use this new feature in iOS 14.5. To those of you who don’t have an Apple Watch, then you might not be able to use this new feature. You might need to continue to enter your passcode manually in public areas.
It is about time to meet the future of air conditioning. Hisense has just unveiled the world’s first auto cleaning air conditioner. Back in those days, we have to manually remove the filter and wash it and dry it before placing back on our air conditioner. But, now with the new Hisense Auto Clean feature, you can simply tap on the single button and worry less after that.
Honestly, this is something personally I have been waiting for so long. Especially during this pandemic, the air conditioners are on always. This causes the dust to pile up easily in the filter of the air conditioner. Day by day this will affect the coolness of the air conditioner. Especially when I am working from home currently, most of the time I will be super busy with my works and then I might forget to clean the filter of the air conditioner. At the same time it is also very time consuming to call the contractor to clean the air conditioner.
But with this Hisense new feature, you just need to press one button on the L1-12 (LS) remote controller and it will automatically start the auto-clean function and provide you with clean air all the time. According to Mr William Li, Managing Director of Hisense Malaysia, he hopes that Malaysians will enjoy the technology provided on all users’ air-conditioner while keeping them cool and clean.
How does the Auto Clean feature works?
Basically, all you need to do is just set the L1-12(LS) remote controller In Cooling or Dry mode when the air-conditioner is in standby status. Then, press ‘Quiet Button’ for 5 seconds to activate the Auto Clean feature and it will automatically start the 5 steps (Frosting – Penetration – Stripping – Defrosting – Drying) cleaning process to clean the internal areas of the air-conditioner.
First step will be ‘Frosting’ where it makes the temperature drop rapidly to 19℃, and the evaporator will frost quickly followed by the second step, ‘Penetration’ which penetrates deeply between the dust and the attached surface. While the dust and dirt are frozen, the third step of Auto Clean Function ‘Stripping’ came in where it started to strip away all the dust that is frost.
The fourth step ‘Defrost’ mode will defrost everything into water, while the last step ‘Drying’ will keep the filter dry and clean as well as remove the dust and dirt. Auto Clean feature takes a minimum of 9 minutes to complete the whole process and it would help to increase the efficiency of the air-conditioner and provide users with a fast-cooling environment.
Besides that, the Hisense inverter air-conditioner also supports controls via the smartphone app. You can install the HiSmart Home App to remote control your air-conditioner. You can even turn it on before you arrive back to your home. With all this technology reaching to greater heights smart home appliances are becoming more futuristics too.
Currently, the all-new Hisense inverter air-conditioner comes with the Auto Clean feature. If you wish to purchase it, you can refer to HiSense dealer locations and walk-in to experience the coolness of the Hisense air-conditioner. To learn more about all of Hisense’s premium offerings, visit Hisense Malaysia and follow @HisenseMalaysia on Facebook, and YouTube.
