iPhone 16 Pro Colors Leaked: What We Know So Far

Reading Time: < 1 minute read

Recent leaks provided an entirely transparent view of the colors that will make up the new iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The sources confirm that these devices will be in either white/silver, rose, black, or gray colors. Recent photos show three shades, white, black, and one similar to the gray color of Natural Titanium.

Leaker Sonny Dickson shared images of three iPhone 16 Pro Max dummy units in what appears to be a white shade, a black shade, and a gray that closely mirrors the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s Natural Titanium. This would suggest that the gray will indeed carry the name Natural Titanium.

The images, however, don’t have any rose color. That raises questions over whether it will form part of the final lineup. The iPhone 15 Pro Max also has four shades, so Apple would probably offer a different fourth color if the rose isn’t available.

iPhone 16

Apple has usually stuck to the same color variations for the Pro and Pro Max models, so the iPhone 16 Pro will likely house the same colors the Pro Max does. Though none of these colors can be termed too loud, their trend remains to keep subtle tones for their Pro phones.

Color variants of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16Plus will probably be diversified for people who want more vibrant colors, recent leaks indicate that the models will be available in five colors.

Meta Faces Backlash for Removing Post on Anwar Ibrahim Meeting

Reading Time: 2 minutes read

The PMO has slammed Meta for taking down a post covering Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim meeting with Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh as well. That meeting, which took place in Qatar in May, was shown in the post that Meta took down from Instagram. PMO thinks it reflects a bias against the situation in Palestine.

PMO wants an explanation and apology from Meta. They shared, in the screenshot, that Instagram takes down the posting for bulk support in dangerous groups. The post displays Anwar Ibrahim condolences to Haniyeh on his family’s loss and updates on Gaza.

This isn’t the first time it has occurred. Previously also, Facebook had taken down some of the posts related to the rendezvous but later brought them up. Meta cited that there were errors in the previous removals, whereas the latest removal has drawn disgrace.

In other news, Hamas reported that their leader, Ismail Haniyeh, was killed by an Israeli strike in Iran. He went to Iran to participate in the swearing-in of Iran’s new president and now has become another fatality of the ongoing violence. This has implications for a ceasefire in Gaza.

In general, Meta’s moves and the latest geopolitics underline continued pressures and challenges in the region.

Google’s New Strategy to Combat Explicit Deepfakes

Reading Time: 2 minutes read

It’s now radically ramping up the effort to fight explicit deepfakes in its search results. In no way does the company want any AI-produced non-consensual content. It collaborated with experts and victims to create the response system, which further reinforces the approach against explicit deepfakes.

The new system enables users to easily demand the removal of explicit deepfakes. Once confirmed, Google algorithms filter similar results. It is no longer a job for victims to manually hunt these variations of explicit content. Duplication hunting and removal will be automatically done by Google systems. This proactive measure is very important in curbing online content spread.

explicit deepfakes

The method by Google is quite near to its YouTube policies. A little back, YouTube tagged AI-created content as misleading. Now, people can report their privacy complaints for review. This process ensures that there is a timely removal of unauthorized deepfakes. A unified approach will strengthen the defenses from explicit content across platforms.

The new ranking system at Google also reduces visibility to explicit deepfakes, pushing back against them in search results. Search terms that contain explicit deepfakes are much less likely to show up now. Instead, Google shows relevant news stories as opposed to actually harmful content, very useful in saving people from non-consensual AI pictures.

It’s part of a wider industry trend, with Google included, but similar moves are being made by other platforms like Facebook and Instagram with policy updates. This has legislators, in turn, responding with new legislation. Tests see the successful reduction of explicit deepfake appearances by 70%. Much more remains to be done, and Google remains committed to industry-wide collaboration.

Google’s Call Casting and Internet Sharing Now in Beta

Reading Time: < 1 minute read

Google introduced two new features called, Call Casting and Internet Sharing. These are part of Google’s new initiative for Cross-device services. This in itself is aimed at making the user experience much smoother when switching between Android devices.

Call Casting and Internet Sharing

Call Casting lets users move video calls across devices. Both devices need to be signed into the same Google Account. To cast a video call, simply tap on the Cast button. Currently, this feature is available only on Google Meet.

Call Casting and Internet Sharing

This is a feature of Internet Sharing, which automatically shares access to the Internet hotspot with other devices. That works with Chromebooks and Android devices, so long as Bluetooth and the device’s Location are turned on. It doesn’t work with Samsung devices.

To this very feature from Samsung, Google has an auto-hotspot capability. Internet Sharing does support devices running Android 11 and above; it needs Google Play services version 24.28.34 and, of course, will not be available on Android GO device variants that have cross-device services unavailable.

Both features are still in beta and will see a broader rollout soon.
