Microsoft launches its unified Office app for iOS & Android

Reading Time: 2 minutes read

We can strongly say Microsoft is the king of productivity software. Without Microsoft, there wouldn’t be a Word, PowerPoint or Excel. These are the main software we have been using for our daily lives. What if Microsoft could combine all these three software into one app, wouldn’t that be great? Microsoft has just launched a new unified Office app for both iOS and Android today.

This single app comes with the combination of Word, Excel and PowerPoint. One of the good reason having such an app is it reduces the file size of the each app on your device. For instance. when we checked the size of the Word app, it is around 273MB. And if you multiplied it by three, that more than 600MB. The good thing about the all-new Office app is you get to use three apps in a single app for just 360MB.

Back in 2019, the US tech giant starts to test the new Office app as in beta. And today it is officially available for all iOS and Android users. Personally, the feature which we like the most is the new Action tab. Now, if I need to sign a document I can just scan the document and sign directly from the Office app itself. Previously, I had to download a separate app just to sign the pdf document. Microsoft has done a great job with its Action tab. This is just one feature of the Actions. There are more where we will soon review the app on our YouTube channel.

Besides that, with the Office app, you can also increase your productivity level. This is because now, all you have to do launch the Office app and start scanning the PDF document or signing the scanned pdf document. All in a single app. Apart from this, Microsoft also confirms that it is adding other third-party cloud storage supports such as Google Drive and Dropbox.

The other best feature of the Office app is for the PowerPoint. Now, you can simply type in the outline of your presentation in bullet points and that will be converted into a beautiful presentation slides with the style and formatting. Below is the GIF which you can take a look at how it works. We will try this too during our review video.

Overall, the Office app is available for free download for both iOS and Android devices today. The individual apps are still available for download too if you prefer it. But this could really start a trend where soon we can even expect Apple or Google to launch their own unified productivity app similar to the Office app too. Don’t forget to check out our YouTube channel for the review of this app.

umobile-gx68-postpaid-unlimited-speed

Back in June 2018, U Mobile introduces its new postpaid plan called Giler Unlimited GX50. The main purpose of introducing this plan was to provide unlimited data to its users. At the same time to compete with other telco providers too. Most recently, U Mobile has take a step further by introducing its new Giler Unlimited GX68. Well, now the question is, is the GX68 worth?

We are thinking the GX68 is the best postpaid plan in Malaysia. But why? First of all the new postpaid plan comes with not just unlimited data but its now unlimited speed too. This means you can use your phone to stream countless contents without worrying about finishing your mobile data.

The second reason is now the GX68 comes with unlimited speed too. The previous GX50 offers unlimited data but the data speed is capped at 5Mbps. But now with the GX68, there isn’t any speed cap for your data speed. Personally, I have tested the GX68 speed in the area of Penang which is both mainland and island. From my experience, I would say U Mobile has improved its network speed tremendously.

Apart from these two reasons, U Mobile GX68 is also the best postpaid plan in Malaysia is because of the price. Honestly, we can assure you that you can’t get any cheaper plans compared to U Mobile. Currently, U Mobile is running its promotion where it’s giving RM10 rebate for a lifetime if you sign up to U Mobile GX68 during the promo period.

In conclusion, the GX68 promotion starts from 13th February onwards. Instead of paying RM68 monthly, now you just have to pay RM58 only which you will get unlimited speed, unlimited data, unlimited calls and 5GB of hotspot data. For more details visit U Mobile Giler Unlimited GX68 page now.

Everything you need to know about Galaxy S20 and S20+

Reading Time: 2 minutes read

By now you should already know that Samsung just unveils the Galaxy S20 series smartphones. Now, we will be talking about the Samsung Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+. There are a few differences in comparison with the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra.

The obvious difference would be the display sizes. Both the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+ features 6.2″ and 6.7″ display respectively. Both of these smartphones do support the Quad HD+ resolutions and also it features the 120Hz screen refresh rate. Similar to the Galaxy S20 Ultra, the front also comes with the punch-hole display to hold the front selfie camera.

Over at the camera section, the S20+ features a quad-camera setup whereas the Galaxy S20 features a triple camera setup. It has the 12MP wide-angle camera, 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera a 64MP telephoto lens and the DepthVision camera. If you are opt in to choose the Galaxy S20 then you might not get the DepthVision camera. Over at the front, there is the 10MP front selfie camera.

Samsung Galaxy S20
Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus

Even though the Galaxy S20 and S20+ have a similar Snapdragon 865 processor with the Galaxy S20 Ultra, still the memory configurations are different. The RAM size comes in either 8GB or 12GB only. Unlike the Galaxy S20 Ultra, it comes in 16GB configurations. For the storage wise, the Galaxy S20 only comes with 128GB internal storage. Whereas the Galaxy S20+ allows you to choose between 128GB and 512GB on Galaxy S20+. On top of that, you can still upgrade your storage with the microSD card for up to 1TB.

Keeping the lights on in these two smartphones are the 4,000mAh and 4,500mAh battery. However, looking at the specs, both the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+ gets a 25W wired fast charging brick only. Don’t worry you can still charge these phones with the wireless charger too.

Overall, these are the known specs of the Samsung Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+. For more information, you can find out from the Samsung Malaysia website.

Samsung unveils the monstrous Galaxy S20 Ultra

Reading Time: 4 minutes read

Finally, we are in the month of February. This means it is the month of tech. Today, Samsung unveils its latest flagship smartphone during its Galaxy Unpacked event. That is the Samsung Galaxy S20 series smartphones. Instead of two smartphones, Samsung unveils three of them which are the Galaxy S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra.

Galaxy S20 Ultra: Flagship with monstrous specs

The word “Ultra” itself defines that everything is extra in the S20 Ultra. You can view the Ultra device like the Pro devices in other smartphones which has the highest amount of specs.

First of all, the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra features the largest 6.9″ Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. This is the largest display Samsung has ever created for a smartphone excluding the Samsung Galaxy Fold. It also has a punch-hole display which houses the selfie camera. We will talk about camera specs soon. Besides that, the Galaxy S20 Ultra also has a remarkable 120Hz refresh rate screen which allows you to scroll seamlessly. As usual, Samsung S20 Ultra is also packed with the ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner.

Highest specs in a quad-camera smartphone

One of the best features of the S20 Ultra is the front and rear cameras. At the back of the S20 Ultra, it features a quad-camera setup which has a 108MP wide-angle as the main camera. It also has a 12MP ultra-wide camera a huge 48MP telephoto camera and also a DepthVision camera. Upfront it features a 40MP selfie camera. A 40MP camera? I don’t really think this going have any kind of difference at all. Probably Samsung packs all the highest camera specs because of the “Ultra” version device.

Apart from that, like our previous rumour on the Space Zoom, Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra features the 10x hybrid optic zoom and 100x super-resolution zoom. You also might be thinking Space Zoom means you can capture space photos too isn’t it. Well not really actually. It’s just a cool naming Samsung has it there.

The other eye-catching feature of the Galaxy S20 Ultra is for the first time ever the S20 Ultra supports 8K video recording. Hell yeah! 8K for a smartphone is the last thing I was expecting for this year 2020. Looks like 8K video recording is going be in most of the upcoming flagship smartphones for this year. Now, with the 8K video recording feature, Samsung introduces a new feature called 8K Video Snap. Using this feature you can first record the video and then you can zoom the video to take a 33MP still.

On top of that, there is also another new feature called Single Take. You can use this feature to take burst shot. But there is a catch in that, where the burst shot uses AI to capture multiple shoot variety format of images such as loop, rewind and also slo-mo. All of this is being done with just in this one-shot.

Under the hood, the Galaxy S20 Ultra features the Snapdragon 865 processor which is mated with mountainous 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM. Instead of a 1TB internal storage, Samsung decided to go with either 128GB, 256GB and 512GB internal storage options. However, you can still add additional storage via the microSD card slot for up to 1TB. I guess with the 1TB storage itself, you don’t have to delete any of your photos ever again on your smartphone.

Keeping the lights on is the 5,000mAh huge battery which can be charged with the USB-C. The Galaxy S20 Ultra also supports its 45W fast charging including the Fast Wireless Charging 2.0.

Pricing and Availability

The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra is now available in the US and also in Malaysia. In Malaysia, there is only the 128GB storage option which is now priced at RM4,999. However, in the US there is also the 512GB storage option which is priced at $999.99 (~RM4,137). The Galaxy S20 Ultra comes in two colours which are Cosmic Black and Cosmic Gray.

On top of that, if you pre-order now through the Samsung Online Store or Lazada Store, you can get the new Galaxy Buds+ for free. For more info visit the Galaxy S20 website now.
