Looks like this whole week has been the worst week for telco providers. Two days back, Maxis had a service disruption. Today TIME fibre is facing the service disruption too. TIME is the only telco provider in Malaysia which able to provide 1Gbps network speed. Most of the users, wouldn’t have expect TIME to have this issue.
The issue arises around 8.00 pm where both residential and business users were not able to access to the Internet. Users has started to tweet their disappointment in Twitter. TIME Customer Service hotline gives some feedback on the issue update once users starts to call them.
Hi there. Please accept our apology as we’re currently experiencing a network disruption at your area. Also please be advised that our customer service hotline may not be reachable at the meantime due to the high volume of calls regarding the issue. Rest assured that our field engineers are already working on it to resolve the problem and the connection would be resumed shortly. We advise that your devices (router/modem) is switched on at all time. We’re deeply sorry for the inconveniences caused. Thank you.
Around 10.30 pm, TIME has provided an update on the issue. Even though with the current update from TIME, the service is not fully restored yet. Most probably, users will need to wait for a longer time for the service to completely restored.
Around 8:30 pm, we detected a hardware failure in one of our core switches that affected several locations served by the node. We immediately switched over to a backup and started service restoration in stages around 9:00 pm. Those affected can try restarting their devices to resume their Internet connection.
UPDATE – Around 10.50pm last night, TIME has fully restored its network service. Users should be able to access the Internet as usual.
