During the 2019 F8 Developer Conference which happens in San Jose, California, Facebook announces to make huge changes to its current Facebook design. This includes the design changes to both web and app. Facebook is calling its new version as FB5. This means this new interface design will be simpler, faster, more immersive, easier to find what you are looking for and get all your most-used features easily. These are the five key feature Facebook is focussing now.
First of all, Facebook will be focussing on the Groups feature first. In the new design, the Groups tab will be easier to locate. According to Facebook, there are more than 400 million users who are using the Groups feature. Facebook believes this feature will be really useful for its users to get more personalize feeds from across all other groups.
Other than that, Facebook also introducing a new feature where users can request the admin to post questions without revealing the user’s name. This feature is mainly for the Health Support groups. Sometimes, people tend to shy asking question related to sensitive topics such as health and sex. By using this feature, none of them have to worry about revealing their name to the other members. Their privacy will be protected by Facebook.
Moreover, there are many Jobs groups on Facebook. Now, Facebook will be introducing a way where the employer can use the new template to publish for jobs vacancies on the Facebook Jobs groups. Candidates who are interested can contact the employer directly and submit their applications.
Facebook’s Dark Mode
As we all expected, finally Facebook announces to bring dark mode for the web very soon. As for now, this feature will be only available on the Watch feature. The Dark Mode feature will allow the user to enjoy watching the videos by reducing the screen glare. This will protect their eyes from overstraining.
In conclusion, as part of the FB5 release will be Facebook’s new logo. The new logo will be more circular than the previous logo which is more square rounded corners. This will give a modern look to its logo. According to Facebook, the new interface will be available for mobile apps in the US and Canada for now. Later this year, Facebook will roll out globally. Whereas for desktop versions, Facebook will roll out the new interface in a few months.
