CIMB today introduces a new generation of their mobile application called CIMB OCTO. With an upgraded interface and features that are more user-friendly, this application is expected to replace the current CIMBClicks in the near future.

CIMB also included the QR scan feature on the app to make it easier for users to make QR payments at physical stores that are increasingly popular these days. On top of that, CIMB OCTO also makes it convenient for users to view account balances without having to go through various different pages, including the current banking transactions.

CIMB says this app is still in the early stages and more features are expected to be added to the app in the near future. However, for the time being, users must continue to use the CIMBClicks application for SecureTAC verification. This application is expected to be fully launched by the first half of 2023. At the same time, CIMB also confirmed that they are working on supporting Apple Pay, but it won’t be ready until next year.
This new version of online banking from CIMB is pretty similar to the MAE app launched by Maybank where we can use the account to track our spending, send and receive money through QR codes and even order meals from local businesses.
For your information, CIMB OCTO can be downloaded on Android and iPhone starting today. Give it a try and share your experience with us!
