One of the most admired dominant platforms, YouTube, is getting visual changes. Google has been updating its features by keeping recent user feedback in mind. Presently, rumors say that the YouTube app on Android is going to have a new bottom bar design. The visual changes include redesigning the “Home” and “Subscriptions” icons, toning down the plus button, and incorporating a translucent bar.

The redesigned bar is supposed to enhance the user experience by stretching the video feed. In the bar, blurred transparency will create a taller-looking view. Besides, the new icons are designed in a minimalist way to maintain user attention. While these changes haven’t made it to most devices yet, they show a turn in the approach toward UI design for YouTube.

Another big update is connected to the mini player in the YouTube app. Although it’s already there, it’s currently fixed across the bottom bar, and you have no option for moving it. With the new mini-player, it will bring more flexibility to the screen, especially in resizing and moving. This will refresh the old picture-in-picture feature.

Premium subscribers already get a bigger package with even more advanced features, like picture-in-picture mode while the screen is off. Experimental features, like a sleep timer, are another perk for Premium users. It continues giving special advantages, improving the experience of watching movies.

Moreover, YouTube adds long-form video recommendations to short feeds. This update gives the possibility for discovering content and more time to engage with it. Whether you are a Premium member or not, all these changes demonstrate that YouTube does not stop improving its platform.
