Sonos today launches the latest member of its home theatre line-up known as the Sonos Sub Mini. Sonos users have been anticipating a more affordable subwoofer since rumours of one surfaced late last year. Without wasting any time, let’s take a look at what the Sub Mini has to offer.
As claimed by the company, Sub Mini establishes a new standard for powerful balanced bass in its class. The Sub-Mini is equipped with dual force-cancelling woofers that are meant to produce deep, dramatic lows while minimising rattling and distortion.
Sub Mini connects to Sonos soundbars quickly and reliably across the 5 GHz wireless band, so you can enjoy your favourite low-frequency media without interruptions or delays. The moment the Sub Mini is connected with another pair of speakers (Ray, Beam) the low frequency will travel to the Sub Mini to produce a powerful bass response.

Next, the Sub Mini’s Trueplay tuning technology allows you to fine-tune your system’s sound to the specific acoustics of your room. However, Sonos says that Trueplay will require iOS-supported devices only. Sonos said they are working on making it accessible for Android users but the exact availability date is yet to be given.
Apart from that, the smart speaker is made to be more efficient with its quick setup for effortless connection. All you need to do is launch the Sonos app on the smartphone, turn on the Sub Mini and once it is detected on your device, you can simply tap the phone on top of the Sub Mini when prompted and it will be added to your Sonos system.

As for the design, the Sub Mini comes in a compact size and cylindrical design that could fit in every corner of your house space and blend naturally with your home aesthetic. In a tribute to the style of the classic Sonos Sub, the Sub Mini is created with a central tube that efficiently moves air to increase bass.
For your information, the Sub Mini will be available in black and white colour variants and ready for pre-order in Malaysia starting tonight at 9 pm at the price of RM 2,999. In addition, its general availability will be on 6 October onwards at most of the consumer electronic outlets.
