Google’s Pixel products are finally arriving in Malaysia. Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro XL have set the launching date at August 22. Besides this, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel Buds Pro 2, and Pixel Watch 3 are to be released in September. However, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is to be exempted from the Malaysian market.

A media event saw Google’s Mike Abary explain the Pixel 9 Pro Fold’s void. He is reported to have said that the company decided against entering the Malaysian market too late for the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Hence the market will only see the future generations of the device but not this one.

Other countries, meanwhile, include those that already have pre-orders for the Pixel 9 Pro Fold in Singapore, Australia, the United Kingdom, and Taiwan, though this device offers both 4G and 5G bands, Google has no immediate plans to officially offer it anywhere else, including Malaysia.

It comes with an 8-inch flexible OLED display and a Google Tensor G4 chip. It also carries a triple-camera configuration with various AI-powered photography features. However, the fact that this product is not launched in Malaysia means that local consumers will not be able to access these innovations in the meantime.

The base price of the Pixel9 Pro Fold is USD 1,799 for the 256GB model. The price for a 512GB model is USD 1,919. Over in the Singapore market, the pricing of the base 256GB model is SDG 2,399 while the 512GB variant is SDG 2,579.
