The newest and most liked sorting methods let the user engagement shine through more clearly, but X has not yet clarified how exactly it will choose the “top replies,” for example. This might influence users’ opinions on what top replies are relevant.

Although minor in the details involved in the relevance, the new sorting features are supposed to serve improved interaction. More specifically, this update features an improvement in the manner comments likely to have a set audience are more easily visible to the user. This feature began to roll out over this past weekend, improving the experience.

All in all, the new sorting features make it easy for users to manage and view their replies. User needs and better platform experience have been carried out through advanced organization of comments.

An image of a similar device leaked now, though from someone on Weibo, in the hands of Richard Yu—now chairman of the board for the consumer business group, formerly CEO. The image is not from him himself but from another person on Weibo, it perfectly fits the previous leaks of the tri-fold phone.

It shows a large device, perhaps bigger than the initially leaked 10-inch unfolded screen. The reflections inside the device show two creases, which is consistent with the form factor rumors. The left-most segment includes a punch-hole cutout for the front camera.

New Malware Shielding Feature in Maybank MAE App

Reading Time: < 1 minute read

Maybank has incorporated a malware-shielding feature into its MAE mobile application. This comes after a recent security measure announced by the Association of Banks in Malaysia—Association of Islamic Banks in Malaysia, and this places the integration as part of security enhancements across all banks that make up the membership.

The new feature will provide users with automatic malware and risky permission scanning once the MAE is launched. The app will warn if it detects any malicious software by restricting access to the app. The user shall remove the detected apps before they can continue using the MAE app.

MAE

It will also warn if Developer Mode or Accessibility Mode has been activated. Such modes can leave the app and account open to outside attacks. Maybank has therefore advised all customers not to download this app from unofficial sources or install APK files.

Enhanced malware shielding will be progressively enabled for all app users of MAE. Users should update the app to benefit from this added security. Also, note that this update does not apply to the older Maybank2u app, which is planned to be decommissioned on August 28, 2024.

This security feature will offer users safe banking services. Keeping the MAE updated with the latest version is necessary to keep the application safe.

Malaysia’s Road Safety Boosted with New AWAS Speed Cameras

Reading Time: 2 minutes read

The Road Transport Department ( JPJ) has embarked on an AWAS speed camera upgrade, replacing the old and damaged units of the Redflex with the state-of-the-art Ekin Spotter. The replacement exercise was inevitable as the older cameras suffered severe damage and are no longer supported by the manufacturer. The new cameras are fitted with ANPR technology that will provide a more effective and efficient system of enforcement against those who commit offenses about the prescribed speed limit and running the red light.

AWAS

Not only are they fitted with enhanced functionality, but the Ekin Spotter cameras also provide added features such as WiFi hotspots and city lighting. In this regard, the updates so provided are attuned to JPJ’s long-term objective of reducing accidents and fatalities on Malaysian roads. The department thus calls upon all road users to adhere strictly to traffic regulations for their safety and that of others.

The latest cameras have also integrated the 360-degree surveillance module, providing high-resolution images both during the day and at night. This further helps the cameras to monitor and enforce traffic laws with greater efficiency. The black color of the cameras’ less visible pole design acts as more of a deterrent against reckless driving behaviors.

With an over 99% compliance rate, the government will increase the number of AWAS cameras within the country through the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research. This move is made in a bid to further enhance road safety and minimize traffic-related incidents in Malaysia.

ChatGPT Free Users Can Now Generate Images with DALL-E 3

Reading Time: 2 minutes read

Free-tier users of ChatGPT are now given access to the DALL-E 3 image generation tool by OpenAI. Access is limited to only two AI-generated images per day. This feature works by just typing a prompt on what is supposed to be in the image. ChatGPT will then create the image and write a brief description of it.

While earlier, DALL-E 3 was available only to ChatGPT Plus subscribers, the ones on the free plan, compared to them, get a more generous limit. That means Plus users can generate up to five images per minute with DALL-E 2, or one per minute with DALL-E 3, clearly giving more value to the subscription.

This could be perceived as a limitation of two images per day. Most probably, though, it is an intentional move to encourage upgrading. Many free services are limited like this to preview some premium features and give them a go. In case one finds the tool useful, they can upgrade their subscription to ChatGPT Plus.

DALL-E 3

The generated images are given without visual watermarks, only in a web format. This ensures that users get high-quality images for their needs. No watermarks and the possibility of choosing the format make the tool more appealing.

It is, at all events, a strategic move to include DALL-E 3 in this free tier. OpenAI tries to woo more users to the premium tier by giving them a taste of the abilities, those needing broader usage still have to subscribe to ChatGPT Plus for the best experience.

YouTube’s New Community Notes Feature

Reading Time: 2 minutes read

YouTube is going to introduce a feature that puts Community Notes from Twitter right into the hands of creators. The platform believes this move will improve the accuracy of information users share. If you remember, in its earlier avatar, Birdwatch essentially allowed the same on Twitter—fact-checking by users. Well, YouTube decided to take a cue from this concept to clear up any confusion or inaccuracies in videos.

YouTube Community Notes

In case of misleading information, it is possible to add notes to clarify. The feature appeared at the bottom of some videos and called for people to contribute. According to a report by 9to5Google, the notes will be assessed by other people who hold different views before their publication. That way, contributions will be quality-controlled and useful.

This feature is quite similar to that on Twitter. Only those notes that have obtained good ratings from a variety of people will get published. Feedback from users with varied opinions is gathered by the system to increase the credibility of the submitted notes. Maintaining these opinions diverse over time is challenging.

The company announced this feature back in June, and now it’s sending out invitations to join the program. Whether it will remain a pilot or if there are wider ambitions for a launch is unclear. As more users contribute to it, it will become clearer how well this feature can work to make videos more accurate.

The Community Notes feature on YouTube is a giant step toward better accuracy of information. Contributing to and reviewing the notes can help users create a more informed community, which is exactly what YouTube expects from this move. Similar efforts are underway on other platforms; the requirement for dependable content checks never stops.
