Jony Ive profile disappears from Apple’s Leadership page

It has been almost six months since Jony Ive leaves Apple and still his name was at the Apple’s Leadership page until yesterday. However, today the Cupertino tech giant has officially remove Jony Ive profile from the Apple’s Leadership page.

Back in June when Jony Ive leaves Apple, Tim Cook says that Apple will continue to be one of Ive’s client. The reason Jony Ive leaves Apple is to start up his own design company called, LoveFrom. Jony Ive joins Apple back in 1992 and then he leads the design team starting from 1996 until 2019. Now, Jony Ive joins hands together with his old friend Marc Newson to start up LoveFrom.

Since Jony Ive leaves Apple, COO Jeff Williams is the person who is responsible for the software and hardware design. With this new collaboration between Ive and Marc Newson, we can expect a better product design on the Apple products.

Apart from Digi, now Celcom has also announced that it will be selling the Apple Watch Series 5 LTE starting on the 13th December 2019. At the moment, Celcom allows you to pre-order the Apple Watch Series 5 starting on 6th December 2019.

According to Celcom, you can start to pre-order your favourite colour of your Apple Watch Series 5 LTE at all Bluecube stores nationwide. The Apple Watch Series 5 LTE can also be pre-ordered at the selected Celcom Certified Partners.

To recap, the cellular version allows you to make calls without carrying your iPhone along with you. Besides that, you can also play your favourite songs directly from your Apple Watch Series 5. However, the non-LTE version can allow you to make phone calls and stream music while having your iPhone with you along.

Similar to Digi, Celcom will be providing its eSIM which will use the same number as your current iPhone. In order to make calls from the Apple Watch Series 5 LTE, you need Voice over LTE (VoLTE) feature. Currently, this feature is not being provided by Celcom yet. But, with the launch of Apple Watch Series 5 LTE by Celcom, you can expect Celcom will be providing the VoLTE feature sooner than expected.

Currently, the Apple Watch Series 5 LTE is priced starting from RM2,199 for the 40mm version. Whereas the 44mm version is priced at RM2,399 onwards. Apart from the Apple Watch Series 5, you can also purchase the Apple Watch Series 3 LTE at RM1,299.

Redmi K30: World’s first dual punch-hole front cameras

During the beginning of this year, we have seen many smartphones features a punch-hole front camera. Smartphones such as Samsung Galaxy S10, Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and Honor 20 Pro has an in-display front camera. Now, Redmi will be unveiling the world’s first dual punch-hole front cameras smartphone.

It is the Redmi K30 series which Redmi slated to announce it on 10th of December 2019. Apart from that, Redmi K30 is also the first Redmi smartphone to equipped with a 5G chipset. This is the first smartphone to support dual-mode 5G which is the 5G non-standalone (NSA) and standalone (SA) architecture.

Being one of the most affordable smartphones, it is great to see how Xiaomi’s sub-brand is trying to compete with Realme. According to Redmi General Manager, Lu Weibing, the Redmi K30 will be using MediaTek’s first 5G mobile processor. The Redmi K30 will be the successor of Redmi K20.

For the display wise, you can expect the Redmi K30 to feature a punch-hole display. As you can see it below, it is confirmed there will be dual in-display front cameras. At the moment, Vivo V17 Pro features a similar front dual-cameras. However, in the Vivo V17 Pro, it is a modulized pop-up selfie camera. We also received a rumour which shows the Redmi K30 could be having a 120Hz display.

Similarly, Oppo also will be unveiling its new smartphone in December. It will be supporting both SA and NSA architecture which is provided by Qualcomm X55 modem.

A month ago, Apple quietly unveils the AirPods Pro with Active Noise Cancellation. When Apple launches the AirPods Pro, there was an image which shows the AirPods as a plant which we see during our childhood cartoons. That specific image was trending for at least one week in social media platforms. But, still many people are liking it actually.

Grab Malaysia to start GrabBike Beta programme in Klang Valley

Last week, Grab Malaysia launches its new GrabMart Beta programme in a few locations in Kuala Lumpur. Within a week, Grab Malaysia is already planning to launch its new e-hailing service which is called GrabBike. GrabBike is a Beta programme which Grab Malaysia planning to launch it in the area of Klang Valley first.

At the moment, Grab Malaysia is recruiting the riders over at the area of Klang Valley. If you are over 18 years old and own a motorcycle, then you can join the GrabBike Beta programme. Recently, the Transport Ministry has given a statement which allows e-hailing companies to conduct their pilot programme for six months starting January onwards. According to Grab Malaysia, this beta programme is in line with the statement from the Transport Ministry.

Luno officially ‘relaunched’ in Malaysia after 2 years

Back in 2017, the Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) has officially banned Luno to operate in Malaysia. The BNM has officially frozen the BiTX official account. This is the account the users use to transfer their money before purchasing a cryptocurrency. Finally, Luno has been given the approval to operate in Malaysia by the Securities Commission.

Upon receiving the approval, Luno has officially “relaunched” in Malaysia once again. According to the CEO of the Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation, Surina Shukri, Luno is the first company to receive approval to operate in Malaysia. She has even congratulated Luno for it.

WhatsApp rolls out a new update for WhatsApp for iOS

With this new update, you can choose to accept an incoming WhatsApp call while you are on the line with another call.

Another feature of WhatsApp which is quite notable is the new privacy settings. Now you can control who can add you to a group. Previously, when your friends add you into a group immediately your name will be added to the member list. But now, you have the rights to choose whether to accept or reject the invite. You can find this new setting in the Settings->Account->Privacy->Groups.

realme X2 Pro: realme’s budget flagship slated to launch in Malaysia on December 2

The last smartphone Realme announces is the realme X2 Pro. We already know that this budget flagship is already available in China. It will be available for sale in India today afternoon. At the same time today, realme announces the realme X2 Pro will be launching in Malaysia on 2nd of December 2019.

This information is confirmed by realme Malaysia via its Facebook page. At the moment, only the event date and time has been revealed by realme. The location of the event is yet to be revealed. The launch event will start at 2 PM.

A brief recap on the realme X2 Pro. The realme X2 Pro is a budget flagship which runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus processor. The highest variant comes with a 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Powering this flagship is the large 4,000mAh battery.

The front of the realme X2 Pro is the 6.5″ Super AMOLED display. It comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner. The rear of the device is where you can find the quad-camera system. It features a 64MP main camera, a 13Mp telephoto camera, an 8Mp ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2MP depth sensor.

However, you might need to note that, before joining into this program you need to provide some of your basic information to the app. Information such as name, email address and Facebook log-in info will be shared to Facebook.

After setting up your Facebook Viewpoint account, you can immediately join in any of the programs offered by Facebook. Currently, there is only one survey program, Well-Being Survey. Maxis and Celcom signs MoU to accelerate 5G rollout in Malaysia

Malaysian’s could be utilizing the 5G network by the end of 2021. The major telco providers such as Maxis, Celcom, Digi and U Mobile are getting ready to the 5G network rollout in Malaysia. Yesterday, Celcom and Maxis have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore infrastructure sharing to potentially accelerate the rollout of 5G in Malaysia.

With this partnership between the two major providers, we can expect the 5G network to be available as sooner than expected. The collaboration between Maxis and Celcom allows both parties to explore the possible business opportunities in 5G strategic areas which could benefit people and businesses in Malaysia. All this can happen once the 5G spectrum is determined. Does this mean Maxis and Celcom are not competitors anymore?

Maxis and Celcom will be competing together

Both Maxis and Celcom are competitors and there are no changes on it. However, they will be competitive in other business areas. During the MoU signing ceremony, CEO of Celcom, Idham Nawawi and CEO of Maxis, Gokhan Ogut has together signed the MoU.

Previously, Celcom and Maxis have started its 5G demo trials in Malaysia. Now, its time for them to focus on the availability of the 5G spectrum. The 5G spectrum should be available by next year. Nevertheless, most probably before end of next year we should be able to realize the 5G network in Malaysia.
