Last week Google celebrates International Women Day by adding famous quotes into the Google Doodle. Today Google is marking the 30th anniversary of the creation of the World Wide Web which known as www. Do you know the founder of the www?
Thanks to Tim Berners-Lee now we are using the world wide web to do all our search online. He first proposed this idea on March 11, 1989. The internet was mainly created those days for the US military ARPANET which was created in the ’60s. Whereas, the web was created as the way for the public to access to the network.
Tim Berners-Lee was 33 years old when he submitted his proposal to develop the world wide web. His boss allowed him to completely develop the world wide web and then in 1991, the external web servers were up and running. Today, there are almost 2 billion websites online under the world wide web. We mostly use the web for watching videos, reading news and also playing games online. Without him, this wouldn’t have been possible.
Happy 30th Anniversary to the World Wide Web!
