Google has unveiled two new features that will provide users with more perspectives and options in their search results. The first feature allows you to find out about the ongoing online discussion and forums such as Reddit or Quora while the latter is regarding breaking down language barriers in news.ย

Looking at the first feature, Google claims that when you search for something that could be helped by the different experiences people share in online discussions, a new feature labelled โ€˜Discussions and forumsโ€™ will show up.ย

In case you are wondering what it actually does, the feature will showcase useful content from a range of popular forums and online discussions from around the web. For instance, if you search for the best laptops for students, you’ll now find links to forum posts with relevant advice from people, such as their experience with the related topics, in addition to other site results.

Currently, the feature is only available for U.S.-based mobile searches, and the tech giant has not said when it will go global.

As for the second feature, Google said that it is a new approach to overcoming language barriers while seeking local viewpoints on international news topics. Essentially, it will make browsing foreign news headlines published in languages other than English easier by using Googleโ€™s machine translation.

Moreover, you can now make a search in your preferred language and simultaneously see translated headlines for news results from the original language. It lets you experience the country through the eyes of local journalists who can give you an insider’s account of events.

‘This new feature will translate news results from French, German, and Spanish into English on mobile and desktop, expanding upon Google’s existing translation work. However, this feature is still in beta and will not be available until next year.

The company claimed these two upgrades will broaden your search results, allowing you to better understand the world and make knowledgeable choices.
