Apple is reportedly planning to release a new operating system homeOS. This system will launch at the same time as the smart displays. These devices are expected to arrive as soon as the year 2025. Bloombergโs Mark Gurman was the first person to report this development.
There have been rumors about a HomePod-like smart display for more than a year now. Gurman shared information about Apple’s planning to launch a tabletop display. A robotic arm to tilt the screen will also be incorporated into this display. The robotic arm will assist in improving the viewing angles.
According to Gurman, there are two versions of the display at the moment. The first model in the low end will address fundamental needs. Users will be able to use FaceTime and the smart home controls. The version will be higher end, and thus the price of the device is expected to cross over $1,000.
Of the two, Apple intends to launch the cheaper version first. This model may be released by next year. The high-end robotic version could be on the market by the year 2026. However, both versions will present the companyโs vision of home artificial intelligence.
Both devices will benefit from Apple Intelligence. Moreover, homeOS would be built on the Apple TVโs operating system, also called tvOS. This symbiosis is targeted at providing smooth work in the interaction between the user and the application. Apple is ready to hit the smart home electronic market of solutions with these improvements.
