First of all, it has a brand new design which is similar to the iPhone 12 series and also the iPad Air. It exactly looks like the mini version of the iPad Air. For display wise, the iPad mini features an 8.3″ Liquid Retina Display. Similar to the 5th gen iPad mini, the 6th gen iPad mini comes together with a P3 display and True Tone display. Under the hood, the 2021 iPad mini runs on the Apple A15 Bionic chip similar to the iPhone 13 phones. The A15 Bionic chip comes with a 6-core CPU, 5-core GPU and a 16-core neural engine.
Over at the camera section, it has a single 12MP wide rear camera and a 12MP ultra-wide front camera. With this 12MP ultra-wide front camera, the 2021 iPad mini also supports Apple’s centre stage feature. Using this feature, the iPad mini will automatically zoom in and out based on the number of people are in the frame. It even supports 4K video recording at 60fps similar to the other iPad models.
For the first time ever Apple is bringing 5G to the all-new iPad mini. It even supports the latest WiFi 6 technology. The best part is Apple has finally transitioned from a lightning port to USB-C. This means you can use any USB-C cable to charge your iPad or even transfer data to your computer.
2021 iPad Mini Pricing & Availability
The new iPad mini is priced at RM2,299 for the 64GB WiFi model. Whereas the 64GB cellular model is priced at RM2,949. Apple is only offering the two storage options iPad mini. You can either choose the 64GB model or the 256GB, model. The 256GB wifi model is priced at RM2,949 and the cellular model is priced at RM3,599.
However, at the moment of writing this post, it seems Apple hasn’t really updated the launch date of the iPad mini in Malaysia. Interestingly, Apple seems to include the charging adapter for the iPad mini package.
