Truecaller, a popular caller ID app has released a brand new update for iPhone users. The new 12.0 iOS version is optimised to use less storage space while providing spam prevention that is ten times more effective than in previous versions. In comparison to its predecessors on iOS, it supposedly runs more quickly and accurately. Let’s take a look what are the new updates that Truecaller has in store.

To start, the upgraded app features a Caller ID detector that is 10x more accurate and 10x more secure against spam and scams. Design changes have also made it easier to see numerical details throughout a search.

The app’s search extension also has been revamped. For instance, if you miss a call from an unknown number, simply go to your call log, hit the info button, and select ‘Share Contact’ to Truecaller. It will recognise the caller’s name and record it in your iPhone’s Call Log. The best part is that if that number calls again, Truecaller Caller ID will recognise it as it rings.

Moreover, there is a whole new design and user experience flow implemented in the latest version of the app. The company claims that the app is now easier to use on a daily basis and requires less time for initial setup. There are also various caller ID emojis to identify which categories your phone call falls into. For example, the siren emoji 🚨 indicates numbers with a high report of spam activity.

Excitingly, Truecaller will also deliver new features including enhanced SMS filtering to bring the experience in line with the recent release of iOS 16. In addition, it plans to provide an automatic blocking feature for the top spammers, provide iPhone users with in-depth information on spam-marked numbers, and let users read and comment on its spam-marked numbers for extra context, so you would know who keeps bugging your phone!

For those who are a first-timer with the app, you can download it from Google Play Store or App Store and see how many spam calls can you dodge in a day!
