TikTok is finally rolling out a massive overhaul for its messaging system, adding one of the most highly requested features that everyone has asked for in group chats. A TikTok group chat can contain up to 32 people in one single conversation. The new feature will help in increasing user engagement.

There are two ways to start a group chat. First, from the inbox, tap the Chat button or a name in the messages list. Then, select “More options.” and choose which friends to include, finally, tap “Start group chat”.
You can also start the TikTok group chat directly from a video post by tapping the Share button on the video. After that click on ‘Create group chat’, now select a few friends you want to include, write a message if you so wish, and you’re good to go—discuss on the video.
TikTok Group chat invitations are accepted through an inbox. The invite can only be done to people that you both follow. In addition, between the ages of 13 to 15 years old, one is not in the capacity to use group chats. Sixteen to seventeen-year-olds can be either mutual or must manually approve new members of at least one mutual friend.

TikTok is also introducing stickers to direct messages as a new way of visual engagement. Users can now create and upload custom stickers for everyone, making conversations much more fun.
