New BOE Display Teased by OnePlus China Head Li Jie

OnePlus China head Li Jie has posted a photo of an unknown new BOE display. This display is going to be utilized in the next OnePlus device. However, Jie didn’t clarify if the device is the OnePlus 13 as speculated by many. In this case, the image can only present the intended display in future models of the product in question.

Resolving to expand the list of suppliers of superior panels. The OnePlus 12 incorporated the BOE X1 OLED display panel with some remarkable characteristics. This panel was remarkably bright; its maximum brightness stood at 4,500 nits – images were colorful and vivid. Also, it fitted a P1 display chip which provided an overall better view feel to it. This was especially because other users have voted for the actual performance of the OnePlus 12’s display.

OnePlus 13 Expected to Offer “Outstanding Performance”

Still, there are doubts about the specifics of the change in the OnePlus 13, but Li Jie guarantees “outstanding performance.” Surprisingly, OnePlus is planning to lose dependency on Samsung’s OLED tech. Samsung Display has even had a monopoly of OLED with it serving critical smartphone displays in the past.

However, it seems like OnePlus has a preference for BOE screens over Samsung’s displays. Such reasons may have something to do with quality or even the cost-performance of the innovations developed. This is not unique to OnePlus alone, other Chinese brands including Honor and Xiaomi are also considering similar strategies. Some of those continue to utilize BOE while others are shifting to TCL CSOT displays.

The OnePlus 13 promises new features and a significant improvement to the platform on which the phone’s presentations are based. Finally, the growing number of users keeps expecting additional information and announcements on the launching date. Moving to BOE displays could mean new innovations in visual technology for OnePlus models of smartphones.
