Apple AirTag 2: What’s New in Tracking and Security Features?

0
Reading Time: 2 minutes read

Apple repurposed the sort of device in 2021 by releasing AirTag, an object-tracking device. This enabled users to find stolen property, lost luggage, and surprisingly, reveal unidentified waste that did not make it to recycling. But they were also employed in irresponsible ways, like stealing luxury cars or stalking people.

Apple AirTag

Instead, the AirTag will get a second generation next year, according to Mark Gurman writing for Bloomberg. As part of these changes, several improvements will be made this update, which will further improve functionality and privacy.

This is one area that has been tremendously improved through a new tracking range extension. It will be much easier to find your object even if you are a little further away from it. This improvement is possible with a new UWB chip, functional in iPhone 15 and higher versions of the iPhone series.

Furthermore, the new AirTag will also have a harder-to-remove speaker than the old AirTag. This change is done to avoid the incident where the device is used for tracking without the knowledge of the owner of the other phone. As for the internal technology, it will be improved, while the design of the AirTag will not change significantly.

Speaking of privacy, this update may be quite a big plus for those who are worried about it. Apple is working on finding ways to curb acts that make it possible to misuse the AirTag while at the same time improving its functionality.

AirTag 2nd Generation which is to be released soon will refine the experience while not compromising privacy. That said, these updates make the use of an AirTag a safer and more effective method of tracking personal property.
