Since Apple changed its policy in April, a few retro console emulators have popped up on iOS. An emulator for Windows PC makes that list, too—UTM SE. The Verge spotted this significant addition, supporting iPhones, iPads, and Apple Vision Pro headsets.

This app can run several Windows versions, from Windows XP and later. It also supports several equity versions of Linux and macOS. WhatsApp recently rolled out voice message transcription to Android. This means that users can now read voice message rather than listening. Initially, the WhatsApp feature was introduced to iOS in May last year.

WABetaInfo managed to identify the Android transcription feature back in March of this year. During that time, WhatsApp was working on the voice note transcription. Now, WhatsApp has released the feature for the last test to a few beta testers.

The transcription feature is available in the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.15.5 Update. Update to this from the Google Play Store. If you are a WhatsApp beta tester, then update to use it.

Transcription is available on WhatsApp for English, Spanish, Portuguese – Brazil, Russian, and Hindi. Maybe the app will add support for more languages soon. It brings much-needed accessibility to the app in different parts of the world.

To use transcription, select a language for your transcript. WhatsApp will download an additional data package. All transcripts are generated on your device. Thus, privacy and control are guaranteed.

Transcription means that a user can quickly refer to voice messages. You can look up what the voice note said and its context without playing the audio recording again. This can add tremendous ease to conversations.

It’s just that on 10 July, surrounded by a lot of fanfare in Paris, Samsung rolled out a new lineup of foldables, such as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6, along with new Galaxy earbuds and smartwatches. However, TM Roh, Samsung’s mobile chief, told CNBC that a new and improved, AI-driven Bixby is coming. The updated version is due to be released later this year and will use Samsung’s own large language model rather than turning to third-party devices.

The last major update that happened to Bixby was way back early in 2023, which brought the on-device mode and improved a bit of performance, expanding Bixby Text Call to more countries. Updates have been few and far between this year, save for some UI changes.

Samsung is reportedly going to push the updated Bixby experience via a public beta program starting at the end of July or early August, aligning with One UI 7.

Bixby AI integration—a Strategic Move of Samsung

While other tech giants are integrating AI into their voice assistants, Samsung is handling the situation completely differently. Until now, Bixby had fallen behind Galaxy AI in AI integration.

Google was on its way to shift Assistant with Gemini while Apple introduced its Apple Intelligence-driven Siri with iOS 18. But Samsung is making an ability and experience of Bixby using generative AI.

What has been done here by Samsung is enhancing the operation of Bixby with AI. In the competitive market, this will indeed give a distinction to its voice assistant and thus provide users with an intuitive and responsive experience throughout its ecosystem.

With the oncoming Republican convention, Meta underscores that generically, political expression must be treated carefully. They believe all Americans should hear from their presidential nominees equally.

Twitter did address even the retribution against Trump after the attack on the Capitol, having suspended for 12 hours on January 6, 2021, before finally suspending. However, Twitter’s new owner, Elon Musk, had reinstated Trump’s account based on an informal poll.
