The public was informed earlier this week that MyJPJ app users would have to register through MyDigital ID. Before October 10, this process involved downloading an additional app.
The majority of Malaysians rely on the MyJPJ app. It enables them to show the status of driving license and vehicle ownership without having to use plastic cards. Yet many of the potential users experienced problems with registration.
A majority of the users failed to complete eKYC or electronic Know Your Customer’s checklist. This step is important in ascertaining the identity of a user and its failure made users-C9 become frustrated.
MyDigital ID login is no longer compulsory, Transport Minister Anthony Loke has confirmed. This notification to give this requirement has also been pulled out from the MyJPJ app. This decision has been welcomed by many users.
MyDigital ID also released a statement on the registration challenges, too. They agreed with other stakeholders that some of the challenges could be due to factors that were beyond them. For instance, the image captured by users’ devices may not be clear or sharp. They may deny access to the camera when the app is conducting verification.
To address this issue, MyDigital ID has acted by launching over 100 agents in 84 various JPJ centers. Furthermore, users will be also able to do their registration at 212 National Registration Department (JPN) counters. In addition, Tealive’s branches provide registration services.
By these measures, there is improvement in the registration process of MyDigital ID. People must use these facilities to their maximum to benefit from using the MyJPJ app.
