PrestoColor, which is building Colorverse Tower in Decentraland, today announced its collaboration with AFO Radio, Malaysia’s leading online Radio Station. This collaboration will enable PrestoColor and AFO Radio to leverage each other’s strengths and accelerate the development of their journey into the metaverse.

A key success factor for the Colorverse to grow and thrive will be establishing a strong marketing strategy for which AFO Radio will be one of the cornerstones.

AFO Radio also announced the launch of its first NFT collection together with . These exciting new NFTs known as the “Audience Pass” are more than PFPs, providing benefits and values to its holders. The Audience Pass will allow holders access to AFO’s meta station in Colorverse Tower located in Decentraland and exclusive entry to the upcoming AFO Radio Launching Party. NFT holders will also be rewarded for their participation and interaction to earn tokens in Colorverse.

“We are tremendously excited with our strategic partnership with AFO Radio. As AFO Radio becomes a part of the Colorverse, we look forward to welcoming AFO Radio’s DJs and their audience to step into Web 3.0.  We are confident that this collaboration will provide an exciting meta venue for Creators to showcase their talents, capitalizing on the new opportunities available in Colorverse powered by Web 3.0” said Sharon Tse, Chief Executive Officer of PrestoColor.

Mr William Lim, Chief Executive Officer of AFO Radio, added: “We are proud to be strategic partners and collaborators with Colorverse.  Through this collaboration, we hope to provide the community with a platform and an opportunity to interact and gain exclusive access to all future AFO Radio events and merchandise. We are excited to see where this Metaverse journey with Colorverse leads and we hope that our loyal supporters will stick with us through it all!”

MoneyMatch Announces Digital Banking Win and Fundraising Plans

Reading Time: 2 minutes read

Malaysian fintech startup MoneyMatch announced today that it is one of the participants of the consortium led by KAF Investment Bank Bhd which was recently selected to receive a digital banking licence in Malaysia under the Islamic Financial Services Act 2013 (IFSA), subject to meeting all of Bank Negara Malaysia’s regulatory conditions. The consortium is fully 100% Malaysian and includes a few prominent local startups including MoneyMatch as an equity partner in the digital bank consortium.

As a member of the first cohort of Bank Negara Malaysia’s regulatory sandbox in 2017, MoneyMatch pioneered the usage of eKYC solutions within the cross-border payments space, becoming the first successful graduate of the sandbox in Malaysia a couple of years later. Subsequently, MoneyMatch has since broken the boundaries performing cross border transactions over the blockchain as well as expanding to multiple payments licences overseas and will now be actively involved in contributing their accumulated experience, infrastructure, and resources towards building one of the first Islamic digital banks in Malaysia.

MoneyMatch announced in July 2021 that it was applying for a digital banking licence subsequent to the closing of its RM18.5 million Series A investment round together with its plans for expansion. Following the successful digital banking licence application as part of the KAF-led consortium; MoneyMatch is announcing that it is launching its Series B fundraising round now and is already in talks with several local and regional institutional investors, investment banks and venture capital funds and will close the round by the middle of this year as it plans to ramp up its investments in leading-edge technologies, upgraded financial infrastructure and business development scale-up efforts to various new countries in the region by next year.

Adrian Yap, the CEO of MoneyMatch, said, “First and foremost we would like to thank KAF for having the vision and tenacity to lead the consortium and get us over the line amidst the tough competition. Secondly, we would like to extend our gratitude to the regulators for giving us an opportunity to better serve the people and businesses of Malaysia with our innovative offerings. Collectively, we strongly believe the consortium has the right resources in place to serve the underserved MSME segments that have been neglected by the incumbents better and help them realize their ambitions and goals.”

Naysan Munusamy, the Co-Founder of MoneyMatch, added, “The future is looking bright for Malaysia with our government and regulators leading the way with digitalization efforts across all sectors in the region. Digital banking is the future for our nation, and we are extremely proud to be part of the first batch to bring about this paradigm shift in financial services together with our consortium partners.”

Moving forward, the KAF-led Islamic digital banking consortium partners will be working towards full operational readiness and launch, subject to regulatory approvals with further details to be announced later.

Need extra cash? Check out the TNG GoPinjam

Apart from the EPF Special Withdrawal, Touch ‘n Go also launches a new product called GoPinjam. It is a personal loan feature where you can apply for a personal loan directly from the TNG eWallet app.

Similar to the Go+ feature in the TNG eWallet app, the GoPinjam loan feature is also partnered with CIMB. Using the GoPinjam feature, Touch ‘n Go allows you to borrow extra cash up to RM10,000. The unique feature of the GoPinjam is that you can even borrow RM1,000. According to Touch ‘n Go Sdn Bhd, the instalments are flexible starting from 1 week to 12 months.

Since the fund will be disbursed by CIMB, the interest rate which you can expect is 8% and above only. This personal loan product is part of CIMB’s e-Zi Tunai. Do note that, this CIMB product is not Shariah-compliant. Usually, this type of loan is not suitable for the Muslim community. Probably, in another couple of months, we can expect Touch ‘n Go to introduce an Islamic personal loan product as well.

How to apply for GoPinjam using TNG eWallet app?

Probably, the main requirement that needs to be met before applying GoPinjam personal loan is that you need to be aged somewhere around 21 to 63 years old. Besides that, you also need to have a monthly permanent income of not less than RM800. Assuming you have met these requirements, then you can proceed to apply for the extra cash.

First of all, you need to launch the TNG eWallet app on your smartphone. From there choose the GoPinjam icon in the list of features.

From here onwards, you need to follow the following steps to check your eligibility. As shown in the image below, you need to click on the “Apply For Your Loan” button in order to enter the amount you wished to apply for. On the next page, you will be asked to select the amount you would like to apply. For example, I have selected RM10,000 just for testing purposes.

The next step is to select the loan duration for the loan payment. In this case, if you select 12 months then you need to pay at least RM900 per month. The lesser the duration the higher the monthly payment.

After that, you will be required to enter your personal information. Since this feature requires CIMB to process your application, you need to either submit your 1-month payslip, your EPF statement to show your 3 months contribution or your B/BE form e-Filing acknowledgement receipt. Any of these documents will do.

To those of you who are thinking about how the money will be disbursed to your account, once your personal loan has been approved, you should be able to view the amount updated on your TNG eWallet app. From there you can transfer it to your bank account via DuitNow. Unless you already have an existing CIMB account then, the money will be disbursed to your CIMB account.

For more information on the GoPinjam feature, visit TNG eWallet page.

Here’s what you need to know about the RM10K EPF Special Withdrawal

Image from Utusan Malaysia

Recently, due to the pandemic in Malaysia, many people have lost their jobs. Until today, there are people who are having a hard time managing their kids and families. Due to that reason, the Malaysian government allows fund withdrawal from the Employees Provident Fund (EPF). That’s why, i-Lestari, i-Citra and i-Sinar were launched back in 2021.

Now, the nations have requested the government to allow a one-off RM10,000 payment through the EPF. After so many petitions finally, our Malaysian government have decided to give a green light for this withdrawal initiative. Starting 1st April 2022, you can start to submit the withdrawal application through the EPF portal.

How to apply for the EPF Special Withdrawal program?

Similar to the previous programs, you need to submit your withdrawal application through the EPF portal. All you need to do is launch the portal from your smartphone or computer.

On the first page, you will be asked to enter your identification number (MyKad) and your contact number. After clicking on the “Teruskan” button, there will be another page, where you need to choose the amount for your withdrawal. Some users might be eligible for RM5,000 else RM10,000. There is a chance too that the person might not be eligible at all for any amount. We will talk more about eligibility in the later section of this post.

Then once again, you will require to click on the “Teruskan” button to proceed to the next page. On this final page, you will be shown your personal details which include your full name, bank details and your address as well. Upon confirming that all the details are correct, you need to check the checkbox below for the terms and conditions. Finally, you need to click on the “Hantar” button to submit the application.

When will I get paid?

Well, that’s the question most of you might be thinking now. According to the information from the EPF portal, the money will start to disburse to the people starting on 20th April 2022. Besides that, you can start to monitor the status of your application starting on 9th April 2022. Do note that the application is only open until the 30th of April. So do not miss the chance.

Am I eligible for the RM10K one-off withdrawal?

First of all, any funds related to the Malaysian government are only applicable to Malaysians. However, for this special withdrawal, you don’t need to be a Malaysian citizen. As long you are working in Malaysia you will be eligible to submit your online application.

There are a couple of things to note before submitting your application. As a verified EPF contributor, your age should be lesser than 55 years old. Next, in your EPF account, you need to have at least RM150. In order to check your account balance, you can either visit the EPF website or download either the iOS or Android apps on your smartphone to view your account balance quickly.

In a nutshell, the RM10,000 EPF Special Withdrawal is the last initiative from our Malaysian government. If you miss out on this opportunity, then you cant expect our government to provide another withdrawal initiative for the nation. Use the RM10,000 wisely. For more info, visit the EPF portal.

Reading Time: 4 minutes read

Playing mobile games has become a common pastime among people of all ages, especially during stay-at-home periods. An adventurous battlefield or virtual role-play is an exciting entertainment choice and some say an all-rounded stress reliever. Despite Malaysia’s loosening of the Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) in the hopes of regaining economic growth, Malaysians are likely to turn to gaming as a solution to momentarily escape life’s troubles and excite their emotions by clearing level after level in the world of gaming or as a way to stay in touch with a friend in the virtual world.

You may have the skillset of a pro gamer but how do you ensure a smooth sail towards victory or take those headshots to the next level? Nothing beats utilising a phone made especially for your gaming comfort and pleasure, the best gaming flagship smartphone from realme, the realme GT Neo2.

Here are 5 reasons why realme GT Neo2 is your best gaming partner:

1. Gripping Comfort

Comfort is definitely one of the main things a pro gamer needs to fully execute their gaming abilities while in-game. The realme GT Neo2 prioritises comfort as it is relatively lightweight and slim at only 200g and 8.6mm for a snug grip which reduces discomfort and hand fatigue when gaming for long hours.  With comfort at the palm of your hands, you would feel more relaxed and at ease while battling your opponents for that sweet taste of victory.

2. Immersive Gaming Experience

What makes a gamer proficient and a victor? Having the skills is an important factor but to execute flawlessly, you need a device that is capable to support your gaming needs. It is important for a gamer to be connected to their role or as some say being one with the game. This requires a crisp and clear graphics display with vibrant visuals so that the gamer is fully immersed in the gaming world to perform stronger.  The realme GT Neo2 provides such an immersive experience with its impressive 120Hz E4 AMOLED display for gamers to have a realistic and fluid visual presentation as they play.

3. Total Manipulation

In order to game with total control, your device should enable you to manipulate your role with complete ease so that your gaming skills can breakthrough for you to attain victory. The presence of a 600Hz touch sampling rate triggers extraordinary responsiveness to detect your motion and input in no time giving you utter control over the game without discrepancies.

4. Gamer worthy cooling system

As you’re in the zone, you wouldn’t want your phone heating up becoming a distraction while you perform. Not forgetting how uncomfortable it feels, as though the palm of your hands are exposed to some kind of radiation. This occurrence would also cause your phone’s functionality to decline which is another worry that would likely disrupt your ability to enjoy the game. Fear not, realme GT Neo2 employs stainless steel vapour cooling to achieve incredible heat dissipation and it is the first ever to use an 8-layer structure with diamond thermal gel as its cooling system so that your hands won’t encounter that worrisome heat up in the midst of your game. What better than ultimate comfort to lead you to victory!

4. Non-Stop Gaming

You’re on a winning streak and all fired up to keep playing but you’re suddenly cut off by your battery percentage. Even worse, mid-game you realise your battery per cent is 5% and you’re then forced to exit the game ruining your streak and letting down your teammates as well. This is nothing a massive battery capacity can’t cure. The realme GT Neo2 comes with a 5000mAH battery capacity that allows gamers to game non-stop up to 8 hours! A very generous amount of time for a gaming session.

But if you wish to continue playing after that 8 hours of non-stop gaming but your battery is low, the realme GT Neo2 comes with a 65W SuperDart Charging Cable, which offers you quick charging as it only takes 36 minutes to fully charge (13 minutes can be charged to 50 percent). No more forcing yourself to wait for hours for your gaming session to start. All you need is half an hour and you’re good to go!
