Ismail Sabri Launched A 5G Pilot Project, The Ketereh Digital Hub

Prime Minister Datuk Seri  Ismail Sabri Yaakob recently launched the Ketereh Digital Hub, a 5G pilot project which aims to help local entrepreneurs to market their products more extensively throughout the country and global by utilizing digital platforms. Ketereh would be the first location selected under the said project. 

As stated by  Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission chief regulatory officer  Zulkarnain Mohd Yasin, the development of Ketereh Hub Digital is made possible through the collaboration between YTL Communications, Shopee and Communications and Multimedia Ministry.

The Digital Hub is equipped with various digital facilities such as photography and live streaming, video editing studios and a high-speed 5G network. With these tools, the hub will provide the opportunity for entrepreneurs and small traders selected from the Keluarga Malaysia Digital Economy Centres (PEDi) to produce content on online platforms that will reach the international market. 

Zulkarnain added that the joint initiative between the government, Digital National Berhad (DNB), Telekom Malaysia Berhad and YTL Communications will supply the community with a 5G internet technology that allows them to be more involved in a varied range of online activities including e-commerce, video streaming or conduct an interesting virtual learning and training experiences. According to him, this 5G technology has the capability of internet speed at a rate of 10 to 100 times faster compared to 4G.
