Huawei has now officially launched the Huawei MatePad Pro 12.2 as a new contender to Apple’s iPad Pro. This latest tablet is yet to be released in Malaysia but it has opened its pre-order on Huawei’s online store.
The latest Huawei MatePad Pro 12.2 has a 12.2-inch OLED screen with a refresh rate of 144Hz. The combination of tandem OLED technology and PaperMatte texture offers high performance and an outstanding viewing experience.
Huawei says that the mated Pro 12.2 can go up to 2000 nits in brightness. In particular, Apple’s iPad Pro offers 1,600 nits of brightness; therefore, Huawei’s device has a clear advantage in this characteristic.
As for the two devices, the MatePad Pro 12.2 features a tandem OLED panel in tandem with the iPad Pro. This enables higher brightness levels without compromising the blacks and contrast inherent to OLED screens.
Huawei MatePad Pro 12.2 multi-sensing writing and drawing tablet gives a smooth and clear image due to its 144Hz refresh rate. The colors look quite vivid and intense, which should make the work nice and pleasant for any type of activity.
The PaperMatte finish minimizes the glare on the screen even in a well-lit environment quite a lot. The included pencil provides a “paper-like” writing feel, but that texture can be hit or miss for users.
As a result of this design, the Huawei MatePad Pro 12.2 is relatively heavy especially when compared to other compact tablets. Still, it is great for displaying information and the system with four speakers will be perfect for multimedia uses.
This version of the Huawei MatePad Pro 12.2 also features a 10,100mAh battery which charges at 100W. This power setup provides up to 14 hours of local video playback and best-in-class standby time.
