Facebook is combining News Feed and Stories into one

Facebook introduces the Stories feature in 2017. After two years, Facebook might be planning to combine the Stories and the News Feed feature into a single feed like in Snapchat Stories. According to app researcher Jane Manchun Wong, who is the first person to discover this interface change says the interface is only available in the Facebook for Android.

At this moment, the Facebook Stories feature is at the top of the app whereas, the News Feed is available in a separate interface where you have to scroll down infinitely to view updates. What we can see from this new design is both the Stories and News Feed will appear in the same interface. Below tweet shows the new interface design changes.

When Facebook launches Facebook Stories in 2017, it was not popular until 2018. On 2018, Facebook says that Facebook and Stories have 300 million active users. One of the Facebook spokesperson said that this new feature is not testing it publicly as for now. Facebook itself is not sure yet whether this will be part of the public release. It’s just part of the Facebook experiment only.

In conclusion, this could be realized as a feature some day. It all depends on the Facebook test team. We might need to wait longer to confirm this new feature. This is because Facebook sometimes might claim it is a bug after a few months. This happens for Instagram last year.
