Following the announcement of the iPhone 14 line-up, Apple also released the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max to add to its latest collection of the iPhone family. Letโs take a look at what this series has to offer.
Although at first glance you may not be able to tell the upgrades that both devices have as compared to the previous iPhone models, however, there are a few eye-catching features that are added that might sway your decision to buy them.ย
Firstly, one of the most noticeable features of this series is the new notch design that comes with what is known as Dynamic Island. Even though the notch was removed and replaced with a regular pill-shaped cutout for the front camera, Dynamic Islandโs features essentially interact around the cutout in different ways depending on the activity at hand.
For instance, the Dynamic Island box will expand to fill the notch whenever a user receives a call, message, or other notification. It will also work for a variety of other activities including live scores from sport event, connecting AirPods, music playback, Face ID detection, battery charging status and a clock timer.ย
As for the displays,ย there is an LTPO technology which should work well with the Always-On function that will appear in the next major iOS upgrade. It also comes with the new Super Retina XDR OLED display that has ProMotion adjustable refresh rates down to 1Hz. The iPhone 14 Pro measures 6.1 inches tall, while the iPhone 14 Pro Max is still 6.7 inches tall.ย
Moreover, the primary camera on the iPhone 14 Pro models now has 48 megapixels. The pro modelsโ cameras have been upgraded significantly thanks to the inclusion of the new A16 Bionic chipset and wider apertures and sensors, allowing them to capture detailed shots in low light, even when zoomed in. The ultrawide and telephoto lenses are still 12MP, but the sensors are bigger.
When it comes to video, inside the notch is a TrueDepth camera system with a 12MP sensor, an f/1.9 six-element lens, and increased Cinematic Mode video recording capability with up to 4K HDR at 30 fps. The iPhone 14 series also features the Action mode that ensures maximum stability to record a moving object seamlessly.
