Although there is no definite answer as to when Amazon might be officially available in Malaysia, there is another alternative for Malaysians to purchase things on the giant e-commerce platform with a free shipping offer!
Amazon Singapore is currently offering free shipping to Malaysia. However, there is a catch though. The free shipping offer is available only on selected products with orders totalling S$40 (about RM128) or more. It seems like not all items are qualified for free delivery.
From Amazon Singapore’s website, you just have to set your delivery address to Malaysia. Then, look for the phrase “FREE Delivery” on the item detail page. When you have eligible items in your cart and meet the minimum spend mentioned above, you will see the FREE International Standard Delivery option at checkout.
To make it easier for you to check the price, you can also choose to display your Amazon purchases in Malaysian currency, which Amazon has supported since 2018.
According to a source, some books that cost less than RM100 are also eligible for free shipping to Malaysia. Even though some of the products will have free shipping, it would be best to compare the prices on other online local stores as well before making any purchase decisions so that you will get a good deal.
