
We Malaysians to be one of the pioneers to begin the test of 5G network. According to Minister of Communication and Multimedia, Gobind Singh Deo, the test will kickoff on the beginning of April. The first city to receive the 5G technology would be Cyberjaya and Putrajaya which are Malaysia’s first smart cities.
According to him, the 5G test is important to know how the 5G technology could be used in the future. He also hope that they can achieve the result within six months, so that they can roll out in 2020. MCMC and several other telecommunication providers will be conducting this test.
Security is one the major concerns when it comes to 5G technology. He also told the media that they want to provide infrastructure that is not only accessible but comes with a reasonable cost. All of this can be achieved only if the infrastructure is secure. According to him, few countries assessment is required to ensure the 5G network is safe before it is being implemented widely.
