We can say that the iPhone has kept on raising the ante as far as camera on smartphones are concerned. Cameras of iPhones have, to some extent, been upgraded with the advent of each new model. This year also brings an additional camera control button. How does such innovation turn out for the iPhone 14, iPhone 15, and iPhone 16?
The iPhone 14 is by no means a bad option for casual shooters. The camera features a dual-lens setup with both a wide-angle lens and an ultra-wide-angle lens, although most other adjustments must still be made onscreen. It works just fine but lacks the thoughtfulness of an actual button.

The new dedicated camera button on the iPhone 15 revolutionizes the camera function. It will be on the side of the phone, letting the user easily switch between lenses. Other settings, such as exposure and portrait mode, can be modified just as easily. This intuitively enhances the camera experience.

Building upon the iPhone 15, the iPhone 16 further enhances the camera control button. Apple added more responsive buttons with haptic feedback to provide a silky-smooth user experience. It adds Pro Mode with controls for manually changing ISO, shutter speed, and white balance.

The iPhone 14 is still very good for everyday shooting. However, the iPhone 15 gives you a far more seamless camera experience. Its dedicated button streamlines mode switching and settings adjustment with a press. For the serious photographer, the iPhone 16 offers the highest functionality, its Pro Mode includes the ability to manually adjust focus, exposure, and white balance, along with Focus Peaking. In addition to that, its enhanced haptic feedback increases tactility while shooting.
