One of the things most of us don’t like doing when we change a new phone is transferring our WhatsApp chat history to a new phone. Especially if you are changing from an Android to an iPhone device or vice versa then it’s going to be a headache. Well, now Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, has introduced a new WhatsApp feature where you can easily transfer your whole WhatsApp chat history using a QR code.

This feature only works if you are transferring your WhatsApp data from Android to Android or iPhone to iPhone. This means you don’t need to rely on your Google Drive or iCloud storage anymore. However, if you are moving from Android to iPhone then you need to rely on using the Move to iOS app.

How to transfer your WhatsApp chat history by scanning the QR code

By using these 3 simple steps you can easily transfer your WhatsApp chat history.

  1. First of all, make sure that both of your devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  2. Then, open WhatsApp on your current device and go to Settings > Chats > Chat transfer.
  3. Then there will be a QR code generated. All you need to do is scan the QR code from the new phone to complete the transfer process.
