SAINS & Huawei Collaborate to Elevate Sarawak’s Cybersecurity and 5G

Sarawak Information Systems Sdn Bhd (SAINS) and Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This MoU aims to boost Sarawak’s cybersecurity capabilities, private 5G network adoption, and applications modernisation. The collaboration will leverage Huawei’s advanced security solutions.

Huawei’s SecMaster technology will be a key component. It integrates and automates security operations. This platform will enable rapid threat detection and response. Additionally, Huawei’s Cloud Bastion Host (CBH) solution will offer centralised security management.

It will also work on the deployment of Private 5G network technology by SAINS and Huawei. These networks have enhanced productivity and security for various enterprises. Hardware and customised software to be tailored-made for specific enterprise needs. It is expected to be completed by June 2025.

Moreover, it puts its view in the basis of application modernization and AI integration. This is instrumental with Huawei’s ModelArts tool. It is very instrumental in fast service innovation to the State Government. This effort targets increased agility and cost reductions at the end of 2024.

At the signing of the MoU, both companies expressed keen interest through the leaders who were present. They pointed out the benefits of cooperation. The state plans to connect as part of Malaysia’s wider connectivity ambitions. Their joining of forces would pave the way for Sarawak towards a secure and innovative future.
