Apple has lined up new Macs equipped with its M4 chip, which it plans to go on sale in 2025. This list includes a MacBook Air, a Mac Studio, and a Mac Pro. As per Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, the M4 chip is going to be the follow-up to the M3-powered MacBook Pro and iMac.

This year, it will add M4 technology to these models. Other changes apart from that chipset are not anticipated. Future 24-inch iMacs equipped with an M4 chip may have additional USB-C accessories, however.

Interestingly, at least one of them might carry major design changes. Recent design revamps for the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and iMac could leave the Mac Pro and Mac Mini.

A new look is potential for the Mac Mini, which has not changed much in design since 2020. More importantly, it skipped the M3 series, so there’s a high chance of refreshment in design for the Mac Mini.

The Mac Pro, last refreshed in 2022, retains the same modular design as the 2019 model. Considering the updates the Mac Mini has had for its ports and the DVD drive’s removal, it would be well-suited to be the model for dramatic changes.

These innovations are in line with Apple’s policy of continuous innovation and improvement of its product lineup. The M4 chip is supposed to support enhanced speed and efficiency. Thus, these developments are likely to attract a large audience.

It also suggests that Apple will not lag behind in adapting new technology with the implementation of the M4 chip in their Mac lineup. It will keep the Mac lineup of Apple up to date and competitive in the market. But Apple is soon to release new M4-powered Macs, the most expected are the Mac Mini and Mac Pro.
