OPPO might be creating a new way to charge phones very quickly. This new technology is called 300W SuperVOOC fast charging. This would make OPPO and Xiaomi’s Redmi tied for the fastest charging system for phones. A person on Weibo named Digital Chat Station posted this information and is usually a trustworthy source. This technology might be available on a new phone this year.

Redmi has released a new 300W charger that claims to charge a phone in five minutes. They demonstrated this using a modified Redmi Note 12 discovery with a 4100mAh battery. The phone reached 50% in two minutes and 11 seconds, and 100% in under five minutes. The regular version of the Redmi Note 12 Discovery already has fast 210W charging, which can charge the phone in about 10 minutes. Currently, the fastest-charging consumer phone is the Realme GT3, with a speed of 240W.

It is rumored to release a new phone, the GT 10 PRO, with 260W charging in Q3 2023. OPPO currently has the fastest charging technology on the market with 150W charging in the OnePlus 10T. There is no official news from OPPO about a 300W charging system. Redmi has also announced a 300W charging concept, but there is no news on when it will be available on their phones.
Realme’s upcoming GT 3 phone may come in versions with 150W or 240W charging, but it is unclear if it will be released in all regions.
