Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd (Cradle), a key agency in Malaysia’s startup scene, operating under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), is thrilled to announce the appointment of Norman Matthieu Vanhaecke as its new Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO), starting from 23 November 2023.
Norman, who is of Malay and Belgian heritage, has been serving as the interim GCEO of Cradle since 1 June 2022. His journey with Cradle began in 2020 as the Head of Finance and Corporate Services, following a diverse career that kicked off with a role as an auditor at KPMG. Norman’s extensive resume includes significant positions in Strategy, Finance, and Management within various local and international oil and gas companies, as well as in government agencies. He is a graduate with a degree in Accounting from the University of Queensland, Australia, and holds another degree in Software Engineering from Multimedia University, Malaysia. Norman’s passion for technology and innovation, fueled by his experiences and educational background, has been a driving force in his ambition to elevate Malaysian tech companies to a globally competitive level.

Datuk Yvonne Chia, Chairman of Cradle, expressed her enthusiasm about Norman’s appointment, highlighting it as a testament to Cradle’s robust internal talent pool and effective succession planning.
