This means that the Switch is ranked the third in terms of consoles sold to the public because of this impressive figure. it is ranked only behind Sony’s Play Station 2 at 155 million and Nintendo DS at 154.2 million.
The embattled video console, the Switch, registered this feat within a record seven years of its inception in 2017. This success proves it superior over same generation competitors such as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Sony sold 117.2 million PS4s, while Microsofts’ Xbox One sold 58 million.
These are sales infornation of Nintendo as the company prepares for the release of Nintendo Switch 2 next year. Not much is known about the Switch 2, but Nintendo hinted at a thrilling backward compatibility factor.
