This means that the Switch is ranked the third in terms of consoles sold to the public because of this impressive figure. it is ranked only behind Sony’s Play Station 2 at 155 million and Nintendo DS at 154.2 million.

The embattled video console, the Switch, registered this feat within a record seven years of its inception in 2017. This success proves it superior over same generation competitors such as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Sony sold 117.2 million PS4s, while Microsofts’ Xbox One sold 58 million.
