Reading Time: 2 minutes read

Maybank is one of the oldest banks in Malaysia which it has more than 10 million customers until today. Every day, there are thousands of people who are performing online transactions through the Maybank2U app. Most of the transactions requires a Transaction Authentication Number (TAC) which will be sent to their phone SMS.

However, since the launch of the Secure2u feature, Maybank has started to encourage its customers to activate it so that they don’t need to use the TAC code verification method. Finally, 15th March is the day where Maybank will be terminating the TAC code verification for both online bill payments and Interbank GIRO (IBG) transactions.

How many of you have activated the Secure2u feature on your Maybank2U app? If not, read this article until the end to find out how to activate the Secure2u feature.

What is Secure2u?

First of all, what is Secure2u? Secure2u is a feature that Maybank customers can use to authorise their transactions. Each time when you make either a bill payment or fund transfer, you will receive a notification on your app which allows you to either approve or reject a transaction.

Besides that, you can also use the Secure2u feature to generate a Secure TAC for your transactions too. Do note that, the Secure2u feature only works on your registered device only. If you change to a new smartphone, then you need to reactivate the Secure2u feature on your new smartphone.

How to activate Secure2u?

Activating Secure2u is quite simple only. First of all, you need to download the Maybank2U app for either iOS or Android. Once that is done, you can open the app and then login into your Maybank2U account. From there you need to tap on the drawer menu which will show you options to click. Then tap on the Secure2u option and then you just need to follow the on-screen instructions such as entering your identification number.

Once this is done, then you are good to go. You can start to use the Secure2u feature for all your transaction. Therefore, Maybank also says that the Secure2u feature is one of the most secure ways to authorise your transaction as its only usable on your registered smartphone only.

In conclusion, our advice to you all would be to activate the Secure2u feature to make your life easier. For more information on Secure2u, you may visit the Maybank Secure2u page.
