The grand opening of Malaysia’s first Apple Store in The Exchange TRX drew immense crowds to get a glimpse of the brand-new retail space. Early visitors were given special tote bags for the opening festivities. That essentially flat, easy present bag is now a sizzling merchandise resold online at ridiculous prices.
Limited Edition or Just a Good Deal?
Tote bags featuring an “Apple Malaysia JOM” theme, accompanied by a gold-printed logo that wrote “Apple The Exchange TRX,” have been touted as “Limited Edition” in online marketplaces such as Carousell, with prices reaching RM3,000 for the bag, if not more—a far-from-modest markup from the original freebies.
Others would view the invitee initiative as strictly business, while others look on it as a gift, considering that some people are after the simple tote that is given away with the opening of the store.
