Apple has also said that it will no longer support iCloud backup on gadgets with iOS 8 after December 18, 2024. Some of its consequences are a deeper penetration into all sorts of devices and a warning addressed to the owners of old iPhones, iPads, and iPods. Prior to this date, users were able to use prior backups without any problem.
Limited iCloud Backup Options After December 18!
Beyond December 18, meaning this year, the Apple iOS8 devices will be completely disconnected from an option for iCloud backups. Nevertheless, user-initiated backups continue to be available in macOS Catalina and Finder. For full compatibility, Apple encourages the user to switch to a device with iOS 9 or a later version of iOS.

The primary transformation is aimed at devices that debuted more than ten years ago, such as iPhone 4, iPad 2. Currently, a large portion of these gadgets’ users care only about their ability to call and connect to the Internet. However, a limitation on losing iCloud backup makes it quite impractical to use in most fields.
Future fashionable gadgets that may be obsolete for everyday use are the iPhone 5 and iPad Mini. Having no updates and security patches in their systems makes users have compatibility problems with the apps and services. Updating the displays predicates extended support and security as compared to using the same old devices day in day out.
Apple Focus on Modern Software and Seamless Services

The shift by Apple shows that company’s goal is to keep offering seamless services for gadgets with the current software versions in place. Older users who still have these devices have to do something to backup the data from these devices. Venturing into new Apple products guarantees the availability of new additions to the gadgets.
Ultimately this is Apple’s strategy of enhancing users’ experiences alongside theization of technologies that are no longer necessary. Upgrading to newer devices keeps devices active for extended use which is a key to user protection.
