Honor Malaysia has recently launched the Honor Magic 5 series to all its Malaysian Honor fans. Especially the Honor Magic 5 Pro has received a huge response from Malaysians. I have gotten a chance to play around with the Honor Magic 5 Pro.
During these two weeks, I have used the Honor Magic 5 Pro as my daily driver. Starting from browsing emails in the morning up to scrolling through my social media feeds at night, this phone has impressed me each time.
First of all, let me share with you guys the specs of the Honor Magic 5 Pro.
Honor Magic 5 Pro Technical Specifications
Firstly, over at the display side, this phone features a 6.81″ OLED display. The Honor Magic 5 Pro does not have not only a dual-curved display but a quad-curved display. I am really impressed with the display because it really feels so premium. Not only that, it even has a 120Hz adaptive screen refresh rate. This is really suitable when I am playing games or reading a long article on this phone. According to DXOMark, Honor Magic 5 Pro has the best display compared to overall smartphones.

Under the hood, the Honor Magic 5 Pro runs on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. The processing time is much faster than its predecessor Honor Magic 4 Pro. On top of that, this phone uses the Adreno 740 GPU. I have played a few high graphics games and am impressed with the display quality. I will be sharing a more in-depth review soon.
When it comes to capturing stunning photos, the camera specs of this smartphone are a standout feature that will leave you in awe. The Honor Magic 5 Pro comes with a triple camera setup. First of all, it has a 50MP wide camera which you can use to take stunning photos of a landscape. Then, it has a 50MP ultra-wide camera followed by 50MP periscope telephoto camera. The front side of this phone has a 12MP front camera for all selfie lovers.

Powering this gigantic phone is the 5,100mAh battery which lights up the phone for almost a full day. It even supports 66W SuperCharge fast charging technology. So most of the time, I don’t really need to worry about charging the Honor Magic 5 Pro.
Is the Honor Magic 5 Pro really the best camera phone?
During my time using the Honor Magic 5 Pro, I really had a good time taking photos using this phone. Most of the wide-camera photos are very sharp and the colours are vibrant. Unlike other Android smartphones, it doesn’t fake photos with filters.

Low-light photography on this phone is quite good as well. I tried taking a couple of night shots and I have to say that the huge image sensor, tries to take in as many lights as possible to brighten the photos.

I even tried to capture some cool moonshots using this phone. The photos of the moon are really nice only until 40X. If I zoom in until 100X, then the picture of the moon is very blurry.

Well, for now, it just has been two weeks of using the Honor Magic 5 Pro. Soon, I will share my in-depth review after using the Honor Magic 5 Pro for one month.
