Pinterest released several AI solutions during its Pinterest Presents event last month. The current suite is included under the Pinterest Performance+ platform aimed at boosting the creativity of the advertiser. The update seeks to provide easier options for running campaigns, a change in line with Pinterest as a marketing tool.

The new Performance+ suite enables advertisers to convert simple product photos into appealing lifestyle images, as a result. This all places it in line with industry trends, as more and more tech giants release similar tools at the current moment. For example, Amazon introduced similar functions last year, improving their advertising solutions.

Moreover, for backgrounds, Google has tools to change color and scene as well. Although Pinterest entered the market far later than other similar platforms, it has shown encouraging first outcomes. According to a report, which figured prominently in one of the earliest instances of its usage, there was a 55% increase in click-through rate for Pinterest-generated backgrounds.

Also, there is an AI-based campaign optimization tool in the Performance+ suite. These tools are intended to help advertisers reduce the amount of effort needed to create ads. Pinterest also argues that these features can help cut the time it takes to create a campaign by half. They also claim that the optimization of several campaign metrics will increase the cost efficiency of most advertisers by at least 10%.

Last year, in an interview, Bill Watkins, Chief Revenue Officer of Pinterest, focused on the change. He said, “We are still the destination that brands need for discovery, but we have to also show up for brands on the lower funnel and creative as well.” This statement underscores Pinterest’s position as a full-funneled advertising media.

Also, starting next month, Pinterest for advertisers Performance+ bidding for Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) will be available internationally. This digital solution provides instant modeling and forecasting of conversion values based on as many as thousands of signals. Thus, it assists the advertisers in targeting more comprehensive carts.

During the holiday trend shopping period, these AI-reinforced instruments will be instrumental for advertisers. They give marketers an advantage, especially in the highly populated business areas in the digital platform. While it is not the first to enter the market, having a full suite of advertising options is a clear indication that Pinterest is willing to lean heavily into AI for advertising.
